Does anyone here have any good experience of making Youtube channel promoting own stock content? Our less than a month long attempt has failed today with spam/scam notification and suspension of the channel :) A bit weird though since the general idea was copied from the other channels.

I suggest using Vimeo. The users are mostly filmmakers so market is there. The free option is fine for demo reels.

The general idea was about exposing clips with links to stock agencies in descriprion. Something like that: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHbdgCRaDIHcvD4aD_hB9Xg/videos

I think that author is only doing that because CM isn't set up for selling videos right now, so he cant have a video preview on the site for his products.

That link was posted on this forum earlier. I thought it is quite common for video promotion.

I think it's likely that the idea of promoting clips is very much allowed, but you just uploaded way too many small clips in a short period of time.

Try editing together small short films to show how the clips can be used instead and I think you can find this more effective, and allowed.

Had their email recently, you are right about too many uploads in a short period.

I've uploaded stock video previews to my channel, and it worked out fine. I don't know if it brings me any extra sales though.

i've made a short demo reel on youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTeppgGnGZw

it has not gotten many views though.

Maybe use a more luring title like "Get stock video footage clips for free!" and I'm sure that will get you some traffic. haha.

In theory it seems like the idea could be helpful, share some of your best clips on youtube, with a watermark, and a referral link to the version for sale somewhere like shutterstock, and at the very least, if they don't buy it, you run ads beside it

Interesting to note that the channel linked in this thread as an example uses an watermarked audio track, ironic that a video footage channel won't pay to use the music for their promo.
