WOW. I had all but given up on CanStockPhoto.com for my vectors, but they exploded in January for me. They went from my #13 site, to my #5 seller in one month (you can see all my sites, ranked #1 through #20, at www.graphicgravy.com) I've never had a site jump that fast.

With basically the same # of files in my account there, here's how my sales went at CanStockPhoto:
- November 2010: $25.77
- December 2010: $45.12
- January 2011: $283!!
- February 2011: $289 and still growing!!

Has anyone else experienced a sudden burst there, or is it just a fluke with me?

Thanks,
~ Eli

Somebody really likes your images!
Canstock sales have plummeted for me. They were good last summer, but have declined to next to nothing now.  Sad

Great going GG. I don't make anything with cs. I will probably convert the $11 I have into credits soon.

I am still skeptical about the sales at CanStockPhoto.

I look at some of the vector at Top Downloads and they barely reach 50 downloads after years.

Can anyone share their experience in CanStockPhoto?

I have an impressions that it is always group of same contributors get sales on the front page..under the 'recently purchased' link.

and usually there are few sales on that 'recently purcharsed' from same contributors. It makes me think that the search engines works in favor of images with most downloaded.

Congrats on your sales explosion!  I have seen steady growth from Canstock, and Jan and Feb this year are turning out to be good selling months, but my increase is more gradual, not a big jump.

Count yourself lucky! (or super talented, or both!) Cheesy

CanStockPhoto has been good for me too. I had great sales last month and posted a thread:

http://www.microstockgroup.com/canstockphoto-com/can-stock-blowing-up!/

It didn't seem to be the consensus though. I really love getting those $5 vector royalties. It's very satisfying.

I don't know what's happening at the "Can" but my sales have been really really good this month. Far better than IS.

Oh, and from the "what it's worth...department, I'm making more from IS's partner sales then from IS main sales....kinda sad after 6 years with them that it has come to this...

Do you think this could be because your images are available at the partner sites?  (not trying to slam you for participating, BTW)

One of the big concerns about participating in the PP was the potential to cannibalize sales on Istock.  Is it possible this is what you are seeing?

My sales have dropped at IS, but they are still more than a third of my overall microstock income.  My stuff isn't in the PP.  Don't know if there's a connection or not.

BTW, sorry to continue OT.  Would be happy to have this conversation moved to a relevant thread...

I apologize to the OP for steering in the wrong direction. This thread is about Canstock and not IS. There's enough stuff on IS!!

(One final here...Lisa, I never even thought about that and need to make some changes...thanks...jp)

I also posted in that thread but I will add here that my CanStockPhoto sales have not only continued to increase since that post, the rate of increase has grown. Much more than at SS, DT, or FT. (I do illustrations, vectors mostly, some 3D renders.)

Not trying to brag, just sharing that my experience is like the OP's.

This is an interesting subject and probably should be in a separate thread.  I just wanted to comment that:
Doesn't uploading to CanStock, Dreamstime, Fotolia, Shutterstock, offer the same potential to cannabilize sales ... or, at least dilute the sales?

That's great  to hear that others are experiencing recent success at Can Stock! I wonder what they are doing to increase sales and customer traffic. Has anyone seen a surge in their advertising or marketing efforts?

I stopped worrying about that a while ago. I submit my vectors to over 20 sites, and my top 10 sites have continued to improve in sales over the past year. My personal opinion is that people looking for files don't "price shop" a specific image at different sites. My opinion comes from years of my experience as a graphic designer and BUYER of microstock. If I find an image I like and need, I buy it then. I don't check on 13 other sites, hoping to find the same image at a better price.

BTW, I'm new to this forum, and have been really impressed with how welcoming and respectful everyone one is in what can be a competitive and cutthroat marketplace. It is fun to see how threads evolve.

Had a nice surge yesterday with 3 sales and a nice fat $5 vector sale this morning which is bringing me closer to my 2nd payout which I'm thrilled about.  Not seeing the numbers GG is but man that would be nice Cheesy  Starting to rank up there for me with Shutterstock on how fast I can reach my next payout.

Would like if I could take payout there twice a month.  That would be a nice milestone for me on CanStock.

Hi! Same for me... well I started in January with them, so... hell of a surprise when my vector started selling at 19.80$ comission! Smiley

Basically, with 350 vectors there, I had (by the end of January, uploaded late 300 in beginning of January), I made 11.25$ in January and 60$ for now in February, which is more than Fotolia and similar to Dreamstime for me.

Yes, great news with Canstock !

Well,
personally i am dissapointed with canstockphoto. I just have only one or two sales a mont with my 370 vector images and the sales aren't growing at all. i've earned only 30 dollars during last year. I've just stopped uploading my vectors there.
Another feature that i don't like here - that canstockphoto creates image preview themselves, automatically.  That's why my vector images preview are low quality and looks really bad. Moreover, if i use the " zoom in" feature  for my images - the view gets terrible - the shapes get jaggy, the colours are a little bit different from what it should be. In other agencies, where i upload my own jpeg image for preview, i don't face this problem.

Make sure your EPS files are RGB and not CMYK. I face some issue with other sites which did this and I noticed that the files which had a lot of color difference and made them look bad were uploaded as CMYK.

It might not be this, but it might be worthwhile to check,
