Title: Another Model Release Question
Post by: Pixart on March 06, 2012, 11:17
I have a shoot coming up in mid April with about 60 minor models.

Can I send the forms home to be signed with the correct date of the shoot and have the parents/witness date them whenever signed or do the agencies need it all to be signed on the same day?  I am guessing that this will work for all the agencies but Istock?  Istock will protest the different dates won't they?  The parents basically drop the kids off at the front door of the school with a suitcase full of costumes and I never see them.

Last year the studio took care of this but the forms were a total mess, so I want to be the one in control of it this year.

Suggestions?  Thanks

As long as the date the parent signed and the date the witness signed match, I don't expect anyone to have a problem.  I had a situation a while back where the release got filled out incorrectly.  I emailed a copy of the release to the model's father, who filled it out correctly and mailed a physical copy back.  I've also had a couple of cases where a witness wasn't available, so the model took the release and signed it later in the presence of a friend.  Also not a problem as long as the dates match, even if they don't match the shoot date or the date when I signed as photographer.

Thanks Disorderly!  That makes perfect sense.
