Title: Wall Art Superstore
Post by: PaulieWalnuts on March 29, 2012, 19:55
Stumbled upon this site which seems to sell art but has mostly watermarked Istock photos. Anybody know anything about this?

Here's an example for searching New York (http://www.wallartsuperstore.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=new+york&x=0&y=0)

Doesn't IS have some kind of print partner? Maybe it's them? Or one of them. It's hard to tell because none of the agencies are transparent in their partner and affiliate relationships, one of the reasons I have gravitated away from a lot of them. I still have imgs on IS, but they're so insignificant to me I really don't care about them any more. They make some money, I cash out.

It's hard to believe that IS's print partner would offer the images with a watermark. It's a turn off and anyway, buyers would immediately check out IS directly to purchase an XXXL license and print it themselves for a LOT less money.

The other day I found iStock's Vetta prints on Zazzle so I don't know if that is their print partner. Or maybe they have several print partners...

At first I thought they were wallartcanvasprints.com who is an Istock partner, but the name is obviously different.  Wonder if they are under a similar deal?  They don't seem to have many images overall, so I can't imagine they are getting this directly from the API.

Weird.
