With two years contributing to iS as an independant, all of my sales have usually come in during the week days, with some rare dls on the weekends, now for the past couple of months things have switch around somewhat, my Monday thru Thursday dls have slow down substantially, then at the beginning of the weekend dls pick up like never before on those days, is anyone else experiencing this change?

Considering IS/DT/FT, almost all weekend sales come from FT.

Nope, typically 0 -2 on Saturdays, 2-3 on Sundays. Last week I had 0 on Sat, 5 on Sun  ;D and a really poor week since.  :'(

Very slow weekends for me too...
and a verrry bad month on istock in general...(which truly sucks since roughly 70% of my stock income comes from there).

Its been a slow month for me as well.
Sat. is generally nada. Sometimes I get one or two on Sunday.

Yup. I'd say it is a "just you" thing  ;)

How many are you talking about? Youve had 70 sales in two years.  Hardly anything to base statistic on...

Was there Best Match change again? In April IS went from #2 (and far above lower ones) to #4 for me  :'(

My sales at IS seem to have gone flat, or actually declined as my portfolio has grown.  During the same time, acceptance has become more difficult, and the CV makes keywording a PITA.  I've been losing interest.

There seem to have been big changes in the past couple of weeks, though it has been yoyoing for months.

Hi All,

My Weekly downloads at Istock have dropped dramatically this month after uploading new images every week for months, last month was my biggest ever. Must be a best match switch or something of the sort.

Best,
Jonathan

No, I'm pretty certain there hasn't been. I monitor a number of search terms in subjects of which I have a significant interest and, if anything, my own images are better presented than ever before.

Sales at IS are down for me too but I think it has more to do with the season and where the buyers are going rather than the best match. SS and FT are doing OK for example.

Yes, with 70 sales in two years is better not to make any kind of statistics.

A few more or less sales make no difference.  One single good or bad weekend means nothing.

Some time ago I made a similar comment to someone in this forum...

It does yo-yo, but I am back to only being able to request payouts every two weeks, that's how far it has dropped for me since the whole thinkstock debacle. And yes, I think there has been a best match change again too. I say that because I have several bestsellers that I monitor as far as where they are in the best match and within in the last two months they have moved farther back in the first few pages. So much for the whole "independents should do better because of the price of exclusive images going up."

Frankly, I am seeing other sites increasing my sales and IS dropping. To me that means:
1. the higher prices at IS are driving some buyers to other sites
2. the direction I thought Getty/IS would go is actually happening...trying to bury independents and change to an all exclusive, RM-style site
3. crappy economy
4. Combination of all three

I've had a serious dropoff after the server crash.  Maybe best match is broken? http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=203721  If so, I hope it gets fixed soon.

My bestsellers are still more or less were they were in the best match. They sunk down a page, or two...but i thought it is because of this slow month (sold less, fall back a little).
Surely hope this won't be permanent because of the whole *%{ thinkstock thing.

Edit: typo

For me, April has been a slow month, especially during weekends.

There has definately been some sort of best match shifting with the new exclusive+ selections coming into play. one of my bestsellers i put to exclusive+ was on page 1 and 2 (as of 3 days ago) on searches before the move. Now it shows up on page 5. There are other exclusives noticing this.

Perhaps it is not only best match, but something more "global". E.g. this is the first time I am waiting for scout reply for several weeks

Another reason I'm losing motivation.  I lose track of which images I've submitted or appealed, which ones I should re-submit.   Just too many hoops with these guys.  I guess the strategy with IS should be to just submit everything, let them accept whatever they want, and forget about resubmitting or appealing.
