...the totals are down -12% from last month (not a surprise) and down -7% from last April, (which is a surprise).
My experience is the same. Site-to-site, not much difference. But my totals are down -16% from last month and down -8% from last April. A very unpleasant surprise, indeed.

Since I started doing microstock in 2005, this is the first time that my year-over-year revenues for a month are down (and I have been submitting new images at about the same rate as always). :'(

The same happened to me! For the first time the earnings from a specific month, were lower than the same month of the previous year!

Now I'm getting worried.

Is this a prediction of something bad about to happen to the economy? I remember the September of 2008 which was almost equal to August, and suddenly, full blown crisis...

In fact, April was the worst month since August 2009!

Besides that there was a drop in the total earnings even if the earnings percentage were somewhat similar to March, except for a bigger drop from IS.

^^^I wont take any notice of one months earnings.  6 months of decline would make me panic but I don't think that will happen.  April can be a bad month, lots of people in the UK take time off over Easter, I am sure they do in other countries too.  There was also the week of no air travel that caused total chaos in several European countries.  May will probably make up for it.

First 4 months
March is so close to BME while April was in range with January.
I upload only 5 or 6 images in April...

A very slow month also for me...m35% down overall compared to last month (my BME) for photos, videos and audio combined. Only 1% up for photo compared to April 2009.

I've updated my stats on http://www.microstockcharts.com/holgs

I don't think its that grim a month when you consider Easter the flight disruptions and some downtime on the IS servers.

I am down 8% from March to April at Istock and have been adding new work, maybe just a slow month.

Best,
Jonathan

Jan/Feb/Mar all showed increases over each successive month. But April everyone must have gone away cause earnings for my are way down. In micro anyway, macro was a good month. A few good sales with one in the 9k range.

If you had waited only a few more days, then it would have been an even 5 years between posts.  ;D

But thanks for the blast from the past. This thread contains one of my last posts as an indie, before I was taken in by iStock's "grandfathering" lie. Seems like I've been complaining of dropping sales for 5 years - ha! To put things in perspective, my April 2015 earnings at iStock (not including the yet-to-be-reported Getty & sub sales) was 25% below my April 2010 earnings from all sites.  :'(  My portfolio size (which I pretty much stopped adding to during 2013, once it was clear new files were not being seen) is about 5x as big as it was then.

Kkkkk. Didn't noticed that. kkkk. And it had shown older than 120days message and I thought, how can it be if it is April. kkkk. My fault! I'm sorry about that.

Well, it isn't only you. Actually my MBYE was on 2010 at iStock. After 2010, the sales just went downstairs.

Any indies reporting who are former iStock exclusives within the last 2 or 3 years care to comment on their exclusive vs. indy results?
