I am just curious how many people will be affected by moving the RC targets.  To me, they are still pretty unreasonable on the top end.  Please vote on whether or not these NEW targets will make any difference in your royalty % for this year.

Lisa I think you could word the question slightly better, although we all know what you're talking about now I think somebody reading this in the future could be confused into thinking iStock are raising our royalties !!!!

Maybe:

Yes although I'm still getting a reduction over my 2010 rates.

Yes and now I've retained my rate from 2010.

Neutral I was already remaining on the same rate I had in 2010.

No I'm still getting my commissions reduced by the same amount compared to 2010 royalties.

well, I am a mediocre seller, so i have only 1492 credits in 2010, slightly below the 1500 limit to move from 15 to 16%. The 16% wouldn't make me feel better anyway.

I'm now more RCs above the target for 35% than I was before, but for some bizarre reason, that doesn't make me feel better.

I do want to nominate KT's post for some sort of razzie award though:

"And I must say, thank you to everyone for helping iStock with an exceptional year. With your hard work, we continue to meet and exceed our goals."

Imagine the school bully who beat you and took your lunch money passing you a note in class:

"Thank you for helping me buy such a wonderful lunch and not hitting me back. With your money I can even buy myself a new video game this weekend too"

Here are the new targets http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=289922&page=1

I am a bit over 30,000. 40,000 -> 37,000 no difference to me, still getting the crappy 17% :(

Richard, I agree, it could be worded better.  I just changed the title a bit, so hopefully that helps.  As for the choices, I am trying to keep it simple.  Either: Yes, I am moving up because of the revised targets, or No, I'm not.

If anyone thinks this poll means Istock is raising royalties, I have some swamp land here in Florida I am willing to sell them at a great price ;)

I will be at a crappy 16%. Wooyay!

I haven't gone near the thread, I don't like vomiting. But judging from what you all are reporting, I can't believe the number of people who are grateful for this. Just freakin incredible. Stockholm Syndrome is exactly right. Or the abused spouse syndrome.

I am so excited I made it to 16%.
PS you could hit school bully and they would never lie to you. You were told they were trying to steal your money. Lying plus stealing is far worse.

It's not 'sarcasm' or irony, at best it might be described, very weakly, as rhetoric. I'm just tired of your constant posting to say ... er ... nothing at all. Pointless.

Not sure yet, I'm 99.2% of the level with 295 credits short.  I'm hoping IS will bump me up the last less than 1%.  But as of now I'm not helped at all.

Staying at 25%
Hope the targets will remain the same for 2011 so we reach 30% faster then expected.

I hope they don't. If there is going to be levels, they have to be the same for all of us.

I would be happy for your traveler, if they did, but I think Perry is right. Since they have dropped the targets now, they have dropped them to include everybody that they wanted to benefit. Everyone else, I think, will be SOL. Sorry to say.

edit: for our out-of-US friends...SOL = sh*t out of luck

I am convinced that KT is no longer involved in iS.  I think he sold out AND sold his name for a huge sum of money. So now when IS has these insulting announcements, they haul out the KT name to make the poor a**holes that are still drinking the KoolAid will feel warn and fuzzy and that ultimately Daddy IS will take care of us.

So some are making it due to fraud? They are made partakers of fraudulent business practices and this is ethical? Wrong is right, right is wrong. Good luck with that.

in september i said that i am going down from silver for some 1-1.5k RC. and after lowering, i am on the same. if i was exclusive for whole year, i should be on the same with no concerns. (somewhere about 24k)

I suppose it's a little late to mention this but honestly the survey should have asked, three questions, not two. "How will the new RC credit targets affect your income?"

1) Improved
2) The Same
3) Lower

Still as surprised as anyone that seven people benefited from this. May I guess that they are all high volume exclusives?  ;)

I actually would think they are low volume, high RC's per sale exclusives, since if they were high volume, they would already be gold/diamond.  It is more likely bronze or silver folks who portfolio has lots of vetta in it, who now get to a higher percentage much sooner than they would have under the old system.

^^ Agree.  I think it is more likely the only ones to benefit are high volume, relative newbies.

Unless I'm mistaken the question was if I would do better under the new targets than the original targets.  Under the original targets I would have got 17% and under the new targets I will get 18%

me too, i was one of the lucky few who actually got a bump up. But i still think istock really robbed a lot of contributors. Most of the contributors joined and stuck w exclusitivity in the hopes of getting to the 40% one day.
