Last week I was shooting an army ceremonial unit practicing their drills, and I'm amazed how many of them drill with their eyes closed. Not just blinking, the same people have their eyes closed in too many pictures for that. Makes them look as though they're sleeping while marching and has ruined my photos!  :'(

Not with editorial photos for iStock. I'm just having to choose pics based on 'eyes open' rather than any other criteria, which is limiting!

Oh right, forgot about editorial.
Be different, unique, avoid similar, use the ones with eyes closed!
And be thankful their fly wasn't open.

it can be very frustrating, a few days ago i was at the balloon festival in Bristol (UK) and the weather was great, sunny etc dont know how many people were there watching but for sure over 50k but it was cancelled because the wind was over 25 miles :(

i was so upset, have a few cool editorial shoots but very few with balloons which is the main subject

I see this summer has been mostly a washout in England as well as up here. Back to 'heavy showers' here today.
Gives me time to pick through last week's shots, so shouldn't complain.

LOL!

Sue, please change thread title to BLOOPERS!
Sorry guys, funny stuff though.

Luis, you should have popped a few of those celebration balloons filled with laughing gas (and used the gas on yourself too) et voila, not a total failure.

"Improvise" is the keyword here lads!
