Hi all
sorry if this has been asked before but couldnt find anything in the archives:

Just wondering re fotolias categories: when processing images, the categories seem totally random. I can only see 10 main categories, and they all have confusing numbers that seem to indicate that there are other categories in between that are not visible. Am i missing something?

A.

Categories the biggest mystery in microstock!

guess it ain't the biggest ;D but it would be nice to know if buyers really use them, sure they would or maybe agencies are annoying us once more just to have a pretty site ::)

I choose manually for the images. Sometimes, it is good to see if a category is over populated by images.  I found categories at FT more specific and well explained. I assume, FT did some research before naming them.

I made a list of all the categories and the sub-categories  - it is a time consuming business entering these.!  As for the new idea of sorting most important keywords in order - on their site it is quite difficult to do.  I put all these in my order on the EXIF, but it doesn't seem to come out in the same order on the upload.  It is not the most user unfriendly site, but it is close.

yes, the ordering of keywords is a real pain. even more so if you use the indexing feature.

This is an issue I'm just starting to deal with, having now established a toehold on FT.

I see how to rearrange keywords in order of importance. A pain, yes, but do-able.

But... is there a way to change the categories I originally selected when I uploaded? Some of the first ones I did aren't as accurate as the latter ones, because I hadn't drilled down through all of the possibilities when I started. I don't see a way to adjust them at this point. Does anybody here know how to do that?

(I suppose I could re-upload a given image, with a note to the reviewer that it's already been accepted and I'm just trying to change the category. That might work.)

Thanks for advice!
