I have an oppertunity here.

I ask you for advice and ideas.

The thing is that the Queen is visiting our  little island.
She is followed by a horde of security and press. Television and all. Its always major when the Queen comes.
On that little island my brother has a gallery and his wife has a jewellery shop. They have been notified by the court that the queen will stay there for 7 minutes. Thats a long time for queens.

I have been asked to produce photographs for one wall in the gallery. 4 images, One meter wide each.
They will be noticed, maybe sold to a high price, but certainly displayed in all media, IF they stand out. Else the cameras will slide away. Noticed only if they are striking enough.
I have hired (persuaded) a model to come, so we can take pictures. The pictures have to be of the island, but I  would like to add a model to the landscape, so it is more striking. Like a woman being worried and look out over the ocean and waiting for the fisherman to come home.
Or a modern tourist, being annoyed. Emotions are important.

So now I post here, to hear if you have any idears, if you can envision the scene and see something I cannot see.
I want something striking, do you have any idears?

Why "worried" or "annoyed"
They are not positive feelings.
Negative feelings transmit negative impressions.

Use positive expressions, not worried but hopeful, not annoyed but amused.

You have a point.

Expectations in stead of worried.  Happy instead of annoyed.

Overlooking a gorgeous sunset/sunrise?

yes also that, but more. What would a model do in the sunset?

Think what fun if you hired a queen lookalike with crown, etc.  frolicking nude in the surf at sunset.

Cliche stuff but how about:

- happy model waving out to sea in anticipation of her husband returning with a trawler full of whelks (or unhappy model waving out to sea as her viking husband returns with a longship full of women and beer)

- model skipping barefoot through the surf, although it would be better if she was on a white horse.

- model drawing words of love in the sand with a big stick

- model eating a really big ice cream whilst fighting off attacking seagulls

Skinny dip, practice martial arts in the buff, riding a horse, sitting on a bench, fully loaded hunting DUCKS??

The model seen from back 3/4, not necessarily full body, but placed in a way that it is possible to understand the (happy/hopeful) expression on the face.
On the sea there is a nice sailboat returning to harbor.
The model is happy because of the return of her lover

(Instead of a sailboat you could use a pedalo, with the Queen pedaling)

Thank you folks, many good suggestions and even clichees can be good.

Any more?

What's a queen dreaming of when she comes to your island? Maybe sitting on a stone at the sea, her feets in the water, papers on the knees (working totally relaxed without security but WITH crown) Or riding on a horse in the surf (with crown)? Anyone more ideas like this?

Yes, ideas like that.
The images need not be quen inspired,   but more ... striking to the average tv viewer.

Okay, next try: What is special on your island? Something special to eat, special traditions. For example: You have a good friend in America, Australia or elsewhere. He is visiting your island the first time. What would you like to show him? What's the MUST-HAVE-DONES?

Corgies wearing crowns and/or shirts bearing flags of her country and yours at familiar and recognizable locations around your island.

Model with feet in the water, holding a large chiffon scarf in the wind - choice of color for the scarf is very important for the photo to be striking.
Model with dog, backs to the camera, rest of the beach is empty space and lots of great clouds.

Is there a boardwalk or a pier? You could have the Model facing the camera with the sea and sunset behind her and the model looking like Edvard Munch's "The Scream"

Tea and biscuits in her Royal chair with her corgi's beside her on the beach during the sunrise/set surrounded by the Palace guards.

Thanks folks, you have come up with some good ones.
Like what is characteristic about the island, and the scarf, plus the model doing things at the water.
The island is famous for its bird life and unspoiled nature and idyllic miniput society.

Im also going to make an editorial series of the visit. Im working on the press acreditation now. But thats something completely different.

You might want to see the location, Im sorry, all sites are in Danish.

you're not confusing Kate, the British royal?

I only know about Mary, surely she's had enough kids?

maybe, although your beachy landscape with a model idea doesn't suggest "baby" to me at all. a beautiful (cliched) shot with a silhouette is always good. remember your target market is real people, not photographers. :)

Yes the taget group is real people.
And therefore stock experience is a good thing, because we are making pictures that have a wide impact.

You give a load of negative to someone else's project after they have put months and months of free work to help other people into  that project and then come here to ask people here to do your work for you?

Cheeky

A pregnant woman (model) will

(If you don't find a pregnant one use a pillow)

UPDATE.
I have been given the press accreditation and have passed the security checks, and even been allowed to be in the same little room in the gallery as the Queen and the Prince.
That is something!

Now i have a question I hope you can help me with.
Is there any way a Nikon d 600 can be set to silent shutter? i have tried the menues, but could not find anywhere where i could "denoise" the shutter noise.
Flash and tripod is not allowed, so its going to be high iso (800) shots. The more silent the better.

Thanks Luis.
I just tried the Q-mode.

it is not at all silent, it just prolongs and separates the two clicks. Wont work.

What a day!
1300 pictures taken and some even ok.
But what a turmoil the pressphotographers made, its not the same as photographing nature and butterflies.
But here we are. The Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II and the Prince in my brothers gallery.

I didn't know that Denmark had a queen. So, I read up about her and found that she is a painter, hence the attraction to your brother's gallery. Interesting woman.
