...Oxford Dictionaries' word of the year.

We need another neologism - perhaps "candie", so that candid portraiture is once again an acceptable form of photography...

Took them a long time to catch up!
It was used meaning 'self-portrait' as a chapter heading in Photo Idea Index (Jim Krause) published in 2005.

I had to look it up earlier today. Just about as inane as "Silo" (which around here is something the use for silage or corn.)

"selfie" - the smartphone self-portrait.

So if I use a timer on a camera it's not a Selfie or does any Self-Portrait by any means qualify.

Still wondering? Some people use that for Silhouette, and I don't know why. Sillo maybe?
