I'd like to overlay 12-month calendars on some of my images.  Anyone know how to create such an overlay in Office or Photoshop?  Or where I can find such an overlay that I can sell after putting it on my images?

Good question, been interested in this as well for a while. I tried to look for this last year, but gave up. Maybe this is the time.

There are many kind people who produce calendar templates for most common programs - InDesign, Word, Photoshop (and Elements), Illustrator, Excel, etc. Just Google it. Here's one kind-hearted person who posted on the Adobe forums with free templates.

You can also find downloadable and customizable templates to purchase on etsy.com. There are many out there, you just have to search and try to find some that are not posted illegally.

Yeah, I found it in Publisher, but it doesn't export to any type of file that's useable in Photoshop to overlay it (i.e., jpg, tiff, bmp, etc.).  Bummer.   :'(

You can copy it to the clipboard (ctrl a and ctrl c)and paste into PS and save as jpeg / tiff etc from there (or at least you can with corel).  Just did that with a basic template so I don't know whether you can get something big enough in terms of dimensions but looks like you can.  If so I'd do the whole thing including you images in publisher and then copy to ps

I just copied a template to PS but it was only around 1mp. I blew it up to 6mp but didnt look good. But Id say you can get 4mp. Must be a better option somewhere. I also dont now if Publisher templates are copyrighted.

Check Matt Klskowski's Lightroom blog http://lightroomkillertips.com/?p=5284 for free calendar presets.

The Gimp has a calendar maker script that produces overlays.

http://registry.gimp.org/node/20193

Put the script in the "scripts" directory under user if you're using Windows.

To change the font colour, you need to change it in the text "tool options" window first, also use "export" to your preferred format, rather than "save".

Make a note on your calendar  :) to start in September or sooner next year. I seem to remember that in the days of photos, before digital, the calendar shots were selected and screened before October, because the printing and sales had to be done to fulfill orders so the calendars could be handed out well before the new year.

In other words, you might just start on 2015 now, it's getting a bit late for 2014.
