Hi guys,

First time poster. I've only sold about 40 photos on iStock so far and yesterday I had $19 in my account. This morning I woke to find that I sold a single photo via the Partner Program which netted me $58.31, bumping my balance up to $77! While I'm delighted, I'd like to know if this is normal for an extended license or is it a lot? Could it be an error on iStock's side? (I'm hoping its not!)

Thanks,
Matt

It'll be a Getty360 sale. That shows up with a green bar.
$$ can be good or poor.

Thanks ShadySue,

Didn't hear of Getty360 before - feels good to have sold a photo to a "high-value customer".  ;D
They're definitely "high-value" because I'm only on the 15% rate - so they paid $388 for my photo.

Regards,
Matt

Interpreting Beppe's post, it means in his world it's very normal to get $58 commissions......for him ;)

That's what I thought he meant; but I wasn't aware of an agency which pays exactly $58. But there are many agencies I haven't even heard of.

It's been a while since I've contributed to iStock.  Is 15% normal?  Does that mean iStock is splitting the normal 30% Getty commission or has the 30% commission from Getty been cut to 15%?

At the moment, it's not connected directly to Getty rates.

iStock reduced their base rate for indies to 15% a while back.

I wish
I have got commissions of this level only with FAA and Alamy, but they are very rare today.
I meant that it is not normal, from my point of view, that we get cents for our images when they deserve tenth tens of dollars.
It is not normal to be paid so little as we are paid now (ans it is only the beginning).

A tenth of a dollar is 10 cents I hope you meant "Tens of dollars"  ;)

The use on forums is that if you don't quote a post you are answering to the post above ;)
