New StockSubmitter version (v1.4) is launched for beta-testing.

What's new:
+ The program now can run in x64 mode if the OS is 64-bit. In this mode program will be able to use all available memory instead of 2Gb only it could use in x86 mode.
+ New updater is updating only changed files.
+ New register/login window should make login process more transparent (it is now performing exactly the action you asked it to perform, not registering a new account if you made a typo in e-mail).
+ The program is no longer being run as Administrator. This change should resolve the problem with displaying network drives.
+ The program should now start faster.

You need to remove current version and install the new one from the official website http://stocksubmitter.com/ if you want to use it!

I can confirm  that this StockSubmitter version shows network drives. A big thanks and a thumb up for this quick solution to Niakris and the StockSubmitter team !

Ok, seems that I found a but. When I close the proggy an error shows up:
Quote
Error: Error saving IStockPhoto term choices: Access denied to "C:\ProgramData\StockSubmitterCore\istockterms.dat"
When I click ok, then a second one shows up:
Quote
Could not save templates. Please make sure the program has write access to its Application Data directory.

Everything I have done is opening SS, clicking on a network directory with some images and then click on the "X" to exit.

Yes, it is a problem related to the old version working with administrator rights.

The solution at this point is to manually set full access permissions for Users group for the folder C:\ProgramData\StockSubmitterCore (Data, not Files!)
It will resolve this issue.

I  use the version 1.4.5468.38233. I thought that the proggy starts now without admin permissions?

Anyways the fix seems to work fine for me. Thank you very much for the quick help  :D

Yeah, it is now working without admin permissions.
The old version was working with them and thus all configuration data is saved with admin-only access settings.
New version copies old version configuration and attempts to save them with user-allowed permissions but sometimes it does not work it seems :(

Try removing folder C:\ProgramData\StockSubmitterCore (ProgramData, not Program Files)
and reinstalling the program using the latest installer from the http://stocksubmitter.com/ website.

New version is out of beta now and seems to be very stable.

It is now recommended for everyone to update by reinstalling the program (if you didn't already) because old version will not receive updates anymore.

I think I automatically got the update when I started it up this morning... but then again I just reinstalled StockSubmitter last week, after uninstalling the older versions on my computer.

If you reinstalled the program within last 2 weeks from its official website ( http://stocksubmitter.com ) then you're using new version.

Thanks Niakris - I really couldn't live without this software.

Is there a 'forgot password' function somewhere for accounts.  I see there is a change password function on the website but I can't remember what my password was to start with...

No, there is no "forgot password" feature yet, but I can manually reset your password to something easy so you can change it after that.

Hello Niakaris,
I uninstalled the old version of the program and installed the new version . Unfortunately, the program does not start. I get the following error message:

Error
Failed to start application:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start (ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at SyncUpdater.MainWindow.LaunchApp()
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start (ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at SyncUpdater.MainWindow.LaunchApp()

OS Windows 7 64 bit
.Net Framework 4.5 is installed.
I hope you have a solution for me.
Thx

Does folder C:\Program Files (x86)\StockSubmitter\App\ contain any files except updater.json ?

Folder contains only file updater.json.

That's weird.
When did you install the new version?
If not within last two days - try removing it and reinstalling again.

Do you allow post-update process to run? Windows should ask you whether to allow it or not.

I downloaded and installed the program yesterday. Now I have the program downloaded and installed again. the error message is still. The error message comes after I have the UpdateFinisher.exe allowed to access the hard drive.

That's weird.
I've added some additional information to the error message window that will help me to find the reason of the problem.
Please reinstall the program and post here any error messages you'll get.
