24.42$ gross on IS? At 15% that would be $3.66 NET for an EL? Surely thats not right because I hear all these people saying here that 1 sale on IS pays for a parking ticket at $7.50

I think, 24.42$ gross means, if the buyer is from US, iS will took 5% from that amount for taxes. Otherwise, I keep complete amount.

I just sold my first EL on iStock. I know you don't care, but I just wanted to share my happiness with you. It grossed me 24.42$.

Anyway, what are the usual earnings from EL?
No 'usual'. Depends on your royalty level and how much the buyer paid for their credits.
Congrats anyway!

Fully agree with Shelma here.

I do think it matters Noedelhap. Would you like it if they published your earnings?

No, but in this case, no specific amount was mentioned; just that he didn't make payout this month. If he had said something like: 'yeah you just made $211.53 this month, you're gonna get paid' or 'you only made $76.22, slightly less than last month', it would have been a different story (too many details).
I do think KelvinJay could have handled it more discreetly, then again, it doesn't surprise me one bit. Both Lobo and KelvinJay are completely tactless when it comes to contributor/client communication.

For me April isn't in a slump any more than the new normal slump. And since a good portion of my sales are now subscriptions I won't find out how I did until May 25th after everything else is reported.

But the thing that really just caught my eye is the Redeemed Credits which for the first time in years are on track to be 1/2 of what they were last year and 1/4 of what they were in 2013. So to add insult to injury I will absolutely drop a level in royalty percentage unless they freeze it. And they should. Their sales are down. Regular download sales are disappearing and being replaced by subs. And we don't earn RCs for subs or other deals.

I remember good old days for video from 2008-2009 with 150 dl/ month. Now days I get only 4-5 dl /month.

Hi, guys

I'm newbie here and I can say that i'm newbie on istock sites, also (i've started at the beginning of 2014).

How are your PP sales on Istock for april? Mine are worse than ever and i'm wondering if they are finished or not. For me, sales stopped on 21 and I've got a lot days with just one pp sale or nothing. It never went so bad. I have around 400 vectors in my portofolio  :'(
What happens with your sales this April?
Cheers.

If they are done it will be the worst month since they started.  I am up about $75 for April compared to $225 average on other months. But sales are still SLOWLY trickling in so I don't think they are done yet.

Where I can see when it was downloaded a PP file ?
I looked in PP but I don't see a date of download, only File, Edit, Approval date, DLs/mo, Partner Program DLs (iStock DLs) and Royalty.

Thanks !

I also don't know how to know when and what was downloaded form a moth to another. At the beginning it was easy to see, because they weren't too much, but after a while becomes hardly to traffic.

My revenue is also 1/3 from average month, so I guess it will be my worse month since i've started. I never sell too much, but this month is awful, worse it was when i had less than 100 vectors in my portofolio. :(

I'm not even in the PP, but I know it's not due to end reporting until the 15th. Clue: it's a thread title over there.

Those PP sale threads were scrapped it's all buried in the general sales discussion thread now.

Generally PP sales will drag on followed by sub sales which they haven't started reporting yet and then Getty 360 sale right in the last week of the month

It's hardly 'buried'.

When you think about slumps, it is helpful to remember that is takes a lot of effort to build a port that will be popular year round. I have noticed some gaping holes in the desirability of my port as the earth travels round the sun. One of the finer points of microstock (that I have not mastered at all) is shoot a port that sells well 12 months a year. Period over period analysis is also sketchy because of the changing trends and demands. Some of my best sellers last April were turkeys this April. Another issue I have struggled with is how to take my best sellers and freshen up the concept so that I keep getting good returns on my initial investment. Microstock is like any other commodity business, the levers we have to pull to make any real difference are sparse.

Like others so far April has been a 'down month' both IS and PP, can but hope they have a delay on reporting from some of their partners.  Interestingly other agencies were up in April.  Could just be a a season blip due to the nature of my portfolio.  Probably just wishful thinking ;)

This is the kind of post from your link that is most telling:

"Credit sales earnings only, here is my April history since becoming exclusive beginning of 2010. The worst part is subscription, GI and all the rest aren't even close to making up the difference I'm seeing year on year.

April 2010: $432

April 2011: $2932

April 2012: $3007

April 2013: $2180

April 2014: $1554

April 2015: $578

ah, the memories of 2012...."

PP is apparently complete, some people reporting 50% down.

Subs are dripping in extremely slowly.

Now that PP and subs are in April is my BMY on iS but with a tiny port and small sales numbers, it's not statistically significant. The upward trend of my graph looks nice but the numbers are so small that posting it would be deceiving. It'll probably be another month (maybe two) before I make payout, so small numbers.

I think they (GETTY) are evaluating the transition of customers from TS to IS and when they hit their metric they will dissolve TS.  For me I can see almost an even tradeoff between the loss of TS vs the gain of IS subs. There has to be a plan to eliminate TS, of course I have no evidence of this other than how my sales are behaving.

Sounds logical.  Why keep  two redundant sites?

April was a horrible month.  Sales at Getty didn't help at all.  They were a complete disaster.
