I'm really angry so pardon my ranting:)

I sent over starting sept 14th until sept 29th each day different batches of 50 pictures, totalling about 7-800 pictures on at least 20 different themes. Now I just came home and was already desperately checking if they had possibly reviewed my pictures and YES THEY DID, but they rejected every single file, not one of them got approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This must be warm up for april fool's, I don't see another logical explanation!

I won't spent any second more on that rediculous site!

Thanks!

Just to clarify: do you get pictures easily accepted at other sites (IS, FT,SS, DT,....)???

Good to know this. I am ready to upload 300 pics but I will wait till they come to their senses.
Can somebody please post here when they start reviewing like the other sites (i.e. ~70% of good photos get accepted).

Meh, I uploaded thirty photos a few days ago and twenty five were accepted. Perhaps, you shouldn't upload so many at one time?

My acceptance ratio at StockXpert is 58% (the lowest) all the others are higher at about 73%.  It has gone down at StockXpert over the last couple of months.  FP and SV are the highest at 100% with BS close behind.

Yikes...

StockXpert is my lowest acceptance site, but I've never seen anything like that... (Although my total port. is 300, and I generally only upload 4-5 images at a time..)

Have you contacted them about it?

And I assume (as per Maco's comment) that some of these images are accepted elsewhere?

StockXpert definitely has the lowerst rate for me of all sites, and since the backup, the rate has gotten worse. I still have batches with partial reviews going back weeks. No useful information posted on the growing thread on their site about the problem.

Hope it gets sorted out. If they are just blowing through files to get through them it wastes everyone's time, including theirs.

I'm Just starting to upload to all the sites after being exclusive for some time.  I have uploaded @ 60 files to stockxpert and have @ a 50 % refusal rating.  :P  I have between 80% ~ 90% everywhere else.  I think they are a little bit ridiculous, I understand trying to keep quality up, but I think they are pissing more people off than anything.  I'm going to hold off on uploading the rest of my portfolio to them for a while.

Interesting.  What made you decide to stop being exclusive at DT beckyabell?

Why don't StockXpert not simply disable uploads temporarily like BS did to catch up with the reviews?  Mass rejection of submissions just as a time saving measure is in my opinion one of the worst sins of any stock site.  This will definitely compromise the relationship between StockXpert and its photographers and in this competitive industry it will hurt them more than us in the long run.  I have three batches pending - the first one now for more than two weeks.  Fortunately I did not (yet) experience this kind of mass rejections, but I will rather play it safe and wait with my new uploads.

It does look like one of the reviewers was only rejecting recently.  Some of my batches were partially reviewed and I had only rejections.  The rest are still pending.  Perhaps they get rid of all the files they don't want first and then go through the rest later?

hmm,  I've more than 700 uploaded last month.  All got accepted expect 2 or 3 of a naked woman because of the nipples (?) could be seen.  But all others were accepted.

They have to beat IS in the long run so they have to be even more selective. I do understand this but i also think they could be a little more  constant in what they reject and in what they take.
Sales are improving at StockXpert so they obviously doing something right.

This just demonstrates something I experienced sporadically on many sites before. These surprising, illogical and counter productive rejections that suddenly happen against all previous experiences. It just annoy photographers, while doing nothing to improve the quality of the images on the particular stock site.  These rejections are often not a reflection of the official policy of the particular stock site regarding rejections. It is more often a result of a new reviewer that is either incompetent and/or inexperienced.  You are either lucky or unlucky in having this particular reviewer review your work or not. Hopefully this particular reviewer at StockXpert will either gain sanity or StockXpert should kick him/her out before he/she does more damage. This recently happened at Crestock where they removed some unreasonable reviewers and they even reverse some of the rejections combined with an apology to the photographer. I don't think we should hold these rejections against the stock site, unless they turn a blind eye to these incidents and allow this to continue indefinitely.

My  "dont need this"  rejections have skyrockected at StockXpert. I used to have a decent low rejection rate there, not anymore.   I guess StockXpert is loaded up.       oh well  .... IS takes them.
Funny how that flip/flops...  now,  IS has my second lowest rejection rate.  BigStock is still the lowest.   -tom

Fotolia is my lowest rejection site. I get 98% accepted, and those that are rejected are "simmilar photo" reason.

About a month ago I decided to give StockXpert a chance and uploaded 150 of my 300 image portfolio.  They rejected almost 70% of the first 100.  Most of the rejections were "we have too many of this subject" or "I just don't think this will be a good seller".  I have no patience for that so I took all of my images down and will not be going back.  Sure, it's probably an immature thing for me to do but I'm not going to give a site profits from my images if I'm not happy with their way of doing things.  Be it a bad new reviewer or not, it's just not for me.

As I already said on other StockXpert subject, they are losing money whit rejected files who sell well on others sites. But the sad thing is it make photographer probably losing money too. I am questioning myself from the start about, if I lose my time there. No answer at this time, but I can understand others who want to quit.

My guess is the reviewers are checking a few photos from each batch, and if they find more then a few they don't like they will check a few more, then if they don't like those they will reject the entire batch. Don't know for sure that is what they are doing but I think some agencies may do this with large batches if they get backed up with too many files to review, and in fact on Alamy it is their stated policy to do this. Not saying I agree or disagree, but that it is possible that is what is going on.

They just rejected the 12 shots I uploaded in 3 batches.  One of them was a close shot of a lifeboat on a carge ship.  They rejected it because "Thanks, but we have too many similar photos already.  Try to upload something else please"...  Sure!

Try this: make a search with "lifeboat":  76 photos will show up.  Discard the ones where there is no lifeboat in it (yes it happens sometime  ;) )and you will end up with ..... 16 photos.

Now if 16 photos of a subject is enough for them, fine.  Be aware of it!!!

That said, I don't care, these photos will sell well somewhere else.  They will lose much more than me!

Claude
