Hello,

I have been a contributor for 3 years during which I had created over 650 artworks most of which were illustrations. While I did start with photography by buying a 550D and a 60mm macro lens, I fell in love with the simplicity of illustrations and never looked back. If you are new to the industry and if you are not fussed about which type of artworks to create then my recommendation is that you to try both photography and creating illustrations. There are a number of benefits in trying vector illustrations and it is not difficult at all. I tried to compare the advantages that a microstock illustrator has as compared to that of a image based contributor and I came up with 8 of them.

Here is the link to my article.

I might be biased towards Illustrations and hence thought it might be good to get a (counter) view from some of you. I appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,
Harish
