" WE DID NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR TERM " ISTOCK

(1/1)

sambo:
Hey Stockers, Im uploading in ESP istock and I'm getting " WE DID NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR TERM " a lot on about 60% of my keywords... my keywords are very good i think and when I click on the not recognised word it totally changes the keyword which i don't like much its either the same as an other keyword or just not right. My question is, the no recognised keywords are they still added to the photo and are these keywords searchable even though istock doesn't recognise them? not only does it do a bad job when you click on the no recognised words but it takes a very long time.. seeing istock sales are really bad these days i would like to spend as little time uploading... any advice would be great.

ShadySue:
I've never used ESP (haven't uploaded for nearly two years), so can't be specific, but it is definitely (by my own checking and confirmed by Support) the case that some keywords which can't be seen on a file page are still there, and searchable. As far as I know, the only way you can discover whether that is the case, or the keyword isn't there/searchable is to do test searches for yourself. But it's even more complicated: in at least one case, I found a keyword to be searchable in either my own port, or a sitewide search, but not the other.

Good luck.

Photostocker:
forget the whole istock...do not support their business and make the good deed for the photographers and the industry.

Brasilnut:
I'll upload to them but won't waste one extra minute in their silly controlled vocabulary.

Remember they only pay 15% on non-exclusive.

unnonimus:
I used qhero, I let qhero pick the keywords. it makes everything easy. otherwise I would not submit to istock.

I have given up on submitting video to istock. lucky I got a lot of videos submitted before they added the keyword disambiguation, so I make some decent money from my old material.

when I used the manual term selection, istock was making all of my images have the same terms. so why even have keywords if the unique keywords are always rejected?
