My most recent submission to the ESP website was rejected. Though they don't call it a rejection. They state that the file was not accepted and it needs revision. I'm just trying to work out why it was rejected but there's no reason given. It's extremely rare when I get a rejection on iStockphoto so I'm curious to know what their reasoning is. Ive gone into the website but can't find any explanation. The photo features a person and I attached the model release form that can be found on Getty's website. Is there any way I can find out the rejection reason?

By the way, this same image was accepted by SS.

Okay, I did some more stumbling around on the ESP site and actually managed to find a rejection reason. It says:

"Release: Unreleased people
File contains recognizable people that are not model released."

Well that's strange because I did attach a model release form. The other odd thing I found when I submitted this image is that I had to upload the release form from my computer (a second time.) I thought it would already be in their system from the last time I uploaded it. Regardless, they're acting like I never attached the form.

Edit: Ive just attached the release form again. Here's hoping I'll be more successful this time.

so I'm curious to know why you would for any reason upload images in return for 15% royalties?

Dude seriously stop feeding them

I admit that receiving 9c sales is pitiful. I was planning on abandoning them once I reach my first payout.

Then why would you still upload and spend precious time resubmitting rejected content?

So I can reach payout sooner.

However, I don't submit editorial images to iStock anymore. Simply because they've made it too hard. Ive tried different browsers but I cannot mark a submitted image as editorial within their ESP website. So eventually, I gave up.

I understand but did you know if you quit they will pay out what ever you've earned even if it doesn't meet the payout minimum?

I didn't realise that. That's much better than Dreamstime - they'll keep all your unpaid earnings if you leave them. I think I might keep uploading to iStock for a little while longer and just see how things go with regards to payments. If there is a sharp increase is 2c and 9c sales, then I might abandon them sooner rather than later.
