For Exclusives at IS thinking about alternatives I have some help for them which is found here below.

It is a submission portal called Isyndica (url supplied below)

newbielink:http://vds.isyndica.com/Affiliate/sumos [nonactive]

This site in itself isnt an alternative to Istock, what it does is it offers one place to upload your work to and from there you can submit it to multiple sites, so you upload once to one place which then distributes it to the sites you want to submit to.

It also offers overview of how the best sites are performing and also how each site you submit to is performing for you. On top of that it functions as a backup of the work you upload there and you have overview of what images you have uploaded and to which sites these images have been sent to.

Before you submit to any sites you obviously need to register with those sites but you have in one place at Isyndica information about many many different stock sites and others as well. For me this has been one of the best investments I have made regarding microstock

the subscriptionplan runs from 49.99 79.99 and 149.99

Achilles wrote a post today, trying to lure in exclusives.

1. Every exclusive-elsewhere member that starts to upload to Dreamstime will receive the upload bonus that we award to our exclusive photographers:
$0.20/approved image. This goes into effect today and ends November 15. All you need to do is email us the link that shows you are an exclusive contributor elsewhere and your account with us. On November 15 we will count your uploads and will award the bonus for all accepted files.

2. Same offer applies to exclusive-elsewhere members that have disabled images on Dreamstime. They will receive the upload bonus for all newly uploaded files (not for enabling the disabled files though). Naturally, these re-enabled files will gain their previous search placement and price level, so they will enjoy much better sales and royalties than from new uploads.

3. We will award the 10% share of the bonus+future earnings to all members referring such users (you just need to include your referral's username in your email or use it at registration time). Additionally, existing members who will motivate exclusive-elsewhere contributors to re-open their Dreamstime account (should they already have one), will be awarded as their referral users. An email to support is all that is needed. We've been bombarded with emails about disabled files. If they appear in your Disabled files section, you can enable them. If not, it means they were deleted and you need to re-upload.

As FD_Regular said, be prepared for a rush of  new worthy images moving from IS to other sites.

nice.

They can also do the create a company thing to change to image exclusive and build a new port without giving up the old.

Good move Achilles :)

Dreamstime is a great agency and unlike Getty, Achilles still cares for his baby.
It's the best guarantee for the future that I can think of.

But maybe not quite so arrogant by the time they arrive.  If history's any guide, iStock refugees are going to look awfully shellshocked.

I'd say they look pretty shell-shocked already __ and who can blame them? Istock policy has basically been "You play ball with us ... and we'll shove the bat up your arse"

I sure wouldn't mind getting a few of those referrals. The upload bonus alone would be more than my ordinary income at DT. Sjlocke; you biting?  ;)

Yes they will be all over the DT forum soon. They can even recycle all their wow istock posts by changing one word :-p

Any clever high-volume IS-er moving to DT will sell his referral link to the highest bidder.

The wow posts were so many that I suggest a Greasemonkey script for replacing the word

BTW, while we are pimping links; I normally use Leaf's links on the right side here. He deserves it for the good job he does on this forum! (Even though I haven't earned him a lot of money).

What is most funny of all is one of current exclusives on iStock is calculating that if he drops his exclusivity he will have 50% less income on istock.
That calculated on my and others income comes up to around at least 10% more than he is earning now with his port on shutterstock and istock only. I can't imagine how those people are awfully informed about rest of industry besides Getty and iStock... That is iStock is microstock for them and there is nothing else they ever looked at.

Other is what with his 4000 - 6000 images on other agencies which counts to at least additional 50% of his current earnings.

Total should be about 60% higher than what he earns now as istock exclusive.

Maybe my calculation isn't completely right but it is for sure that any exclusive with 2000+ images will earn more as non-exclusive with wide spread than on istock.

[added] Dreamstime offer sounds better and brings more cash per sale... That said If I must, I'd sell under Dreamstime exclusive flag.

I had 2000+ images spread wide.  I made 30% more when I switched to being an exclusive at iStock in February.

And what after this new rates? What with lost buyer base which is migrating to other agencies?
Can you calculate that in percentage? I am sure there will be about 30% less buyers on istock after this mess!

But that was a short warmth from pissing in your own trousers :)

Those 30% was nice, but now they are proabably gone, and so at future rises - better you invested more time and efford i the divesification of your work ???

Where do these lowlifes keep coming from?
Maybe IS exclusives trying to recover what they are about to lose?  ;D

Nah, just the spamming guild from Elbonia. They call it "passive income". Since they have all the time in the world, they wander on all possible forums. Registering on SS is free, and you don't need photos there to catch the referrals.
