That and istock is making lots of sales for much, much less than 25c. Sometimes for fractions of a cent in the case of connect. Just take look those reports from esp. Oh, and they also have history of giving away outrageous rights for very little like the google deal.

There is no comparison between istock/ getty's treatment of contributors and their content and any other one of the 5 or 6 top sites.  They truly are in a league of their own.

The reality is, despite all evil people say against istock, it is worth it. On average I make 0.28c per image subscription on istock, contrasting with the 0.25 on SS.  On some months they represent my best earner. I don't know what will happen now with the new royalties. I've stopped uploading for a while and will just observe.
Even though they're your best earner you've stopped? Says it all really when even people who do well there are so demotivated.

I also do quite well there and have seen upswing the last few months. How could I not when they are selling our work for a couple of cents? They can undercut any of the other agencies. I am giving up 2000+ dollars a month but I am happy to do it because I still want to be able to afford my mortgage in a couple of years. I won't be helping them screw me over by taking sales from sites that actually pay me a decent rpd or starting a price war.

I really think we are like lobsters in a pot.  They have gradually turned up the heat and we haven't even noticed. Who would have signed a contract agreeing to license their work for 2c? Well it isn't scaremongering and those sales and worse have been happening for months now.

I hit payout and they're mailing me a check. Uhh, I have a Paypal account. You guys have used it before. Oh Getty...

This is concerning. I want to keep my payouts in US dollars in my PayPal account, which I use for making online purchases in USD. If they sent me a check, I'd be forced to convert currencies and pay extra fees.

In ESP account management>payment>payment options, it shows my PayPal account has been selected. Did you have PayPal listed there and they sent you a check anyway? Or was the payment option changed in ESP for some reason?

Okay, thanks. Do you think this was related to the switch to ESP? I'm wondering if I should keep checking on it to make sure there's no random, out-of-the-blue switches.

I have no idea. It seems like a reasonable conclusion, that it was related to the switch. There's always the off chance that I somehow changed the box myself by accident.

I agree, I quit uploading anything new because it's become such a clusterf**k.  In the words of our Dear Leader, sad
