Anybody have an idea when the enabled IS pictures become searchable on photos.com? And on a related note. What is the difference between "Photos.com" and "Photos.com Plus" besides that the Plus has more pictures/

Thanks

Q: Will my files be available for sale at Photos.com right away?

A: No. We need some time to gather up the content and get it moved over. We are looking at making iStock content available for sale from Photos.com and JIU in August.

From the photos.com web site:

Photos.com - The original subscription

Photos.com has been the premier stock photo subscription since its launch in 2003. Our collection contains more than 390,000 professional, model-released photos in a variety of categories. With a Photos.com subscription you pay once and download photos as you need them.

Photos.com Plus - Something more

From photographs to JPEG illustrations, Flash and fonts to audio files, Photos.com Plus adds millions of professional quality, downloadable files to your graphic arsenal.

For Photos.com subscribers (currently) have access to 390,000 stock photos, some model-released.

Photos.com Plus adds 100,000 jpeg illustrations, plus fonts, flash and audio.

Both allow 750 downloads per month.

Thank you very much. So are the IS pictures going to be available through the PLUS side or the regular Photos.com. If the later, competition should be dramatically reduced.

I'm really confused... is there no way to opt in with all files? I don't have the time and patience to click boxes on all my files...

You'll have to find some time and patience at this point.

As I understand it, the only way to opt in and have your files automatically xferred was to do it on the first few days the option became available.  If you missed that opportunity the only way is one by one.

Seems odd though.  If they are serious about wanting files on the site you would think they might make it easy to do....  Undecided

There was a forum post some time in the last week to 10 days that said they were working on a tool to allow bulk opt ins. Sorry I don't have a link - as I don't plan to use it I didn't keep track Smiley

OTOH it could arrive right after the bulk keyword edit tools that were promised during the introduction of the CV and the craziness that followed...

I don't think so. They even have an annoying box that pops up after every click. It's just too hard, I hope they make it easier.

I think that most of us that have experience of these sites aren't going to bother going through opting images in one by one as it just isn't worth the effort for the low returns.

They just announced an "all in" button. In your contributor panel you can select "all in" once you click on the "Partner Program" checkbox. If the box is not checked you won't see the option. It will only opt in anything older than 18 months with less than 5 sales, so newer images or images with more sales will still have to be added by hand.

Great  Roll Eyes

If they'd install the "Increase commission" button, that would catch my interest... Grin

Everything stays opted out for 25 cents.

You can opt in your whole portfolio now. Check your control panel.

Great! I opted in to make up for the lacking SX/Photos/JIU sales.
Let's see when the first sales roll in...

I still can not find my IS pictures on Photos.com. Anybody else have an idea when that is supposed to happen?
