I signed up with Istock about a week and a half ago, and they have not communicated with me at all.  I have no idea if my image has been accepted or rejected, and e-mails to them have been ignored.  Has anyone else had the same experience? Huh

they probably get so many emails a day like that they either don't answr them, or take 2 weeks doing it.  It was a long time ago when i signed up, but don't be surprised if it takes over 3 weeks to hear if you are accepted or not.

Yes, and with that lack of communication you get the lowest commissions in the industry, the worst uploading process, no FTP, most inconsistent reviews (in my experience), and locked threads if you complain in the forums

Hope your experience is better than mine.

Yes everyone complains about them including me.  Just poke through the history and you find plenty of "IstockPhoto stinks" threads.  But a major fact is they bring a significant amount of income to many of us so we deal with it.  You have to decide for yourself if the income from Istock is worth the hassell.  I wouldn't expect them to get any easier to work with soon.

Well not everyone complains about them.  For example I am exclusive to iStock and it pays my bills.  So I love 'em.  But aside from that in answer to your original question it can up to three weeks from what I've heard recently on the forums for brand new applications and with the holiday weekend I would expect it to get done in the next day or two.  I for one think the patience is worth it. There is a problem with the new Buyrequest.  I submitted three images and they were reviewed before being presented to the requestor as "not suitable for stock".  Well, maybe, but they were what the requestor asked for!  So why not let him decide?  Then just don't add them to the collection, fine.

This is what the requestor asked for

and this is one of my submissions:
