I am wondering why the improved royalties.  Could it be that the old way they managed finances was flawed?  I really don't see new customers being the trigger and I don't buy the reduction in assets being the cause of my work magically being purchased.  I made over $500 which was about $45 more than last month. Three months ago I made over $600 there.  Strange.  Even though I made over $500 it was not nearly enough to make up for the horrible month I had on SS, which was $350 less than my average.  Nonetheless, the rest of the year might be an indication of whether this will sustain itself for a couple of more years. Not going to hold my breath, though. But I will take the doe.  IS tied with SS for July....never before in 10 years has this happened.

I you want us to give you a valid opinion than we need to see your portfolio to determine the quality, volume and keywords.  I made like $10 my first month back in 2011. It takes time- like years to get good results.

CONSPIRACY THEORY: Perhaps iStock reads these forums, and tweaks the algorithm so that some members get better results. That way they're less likely to complain, and more likely to say nice things about iStock.

It rather looks as though IS has changed its Algorithm substantially of course this is a good thing if your sales have gone up as it illustrates what a great photographer you are.  Of course if your sales are down clearly IS are rigging their search in a disgraceful attempt to favour certain contributors.  ???

July earnings on istock were higher compared to Fotolia, which was unthinkable a year ago. It was also my second best month.

Me too but it's because FT is down (dead?) . :(
My best result in July was DT. IS is low but like other months.

BME on IS. Mostly due to an $80 subscription royalty. I had <20 images get less than .28 cents (and some of those were Getty sales) but I have to say that the $80 sub really goes a long way into reducing my grumbles about their system. My average sub sale since they implemented the system is over 50 cents, nearly twice what I would have gotten with a flat rate.

**Update: I just checked my raw file today instead of todayis20 and realized that this $80 was from Getty not the sub package. My average is still over 50 cents per sub, better than the nonexclusive rate of 28 cents. But I didn't want to leave inaccurate info posted.

Has the royalty statement for this month (dated Aug. 1) been posted yet? The last one I can see in my account is the one dated July 1. I thought it would come out on Friday since the 20th is on a Sunday, but I'm not seeing anything.

No, the one which is came out yesterday (before the weekend) was for July.
Obviously the statement for August can't come out before the end of the month, and as always will come out on or around the 20th of the following month, i.e. September.

BMY for $$, though only by 20c. Effectively, July and May tied dead even for dls and rpd.
Still, although $$ are 16% up on June '17, they're 16% down on July 2016, and it's my new worst July for $$ and dls since July 2007, pre-exclusivity.

That $80 subscription royalty is probably a mistake and expect a refund next month!

My best-selling image this year is of an eclipse.

I should imagine sales of that will plunge after Monday.

Could be but I have had plenty of over $20 royalties over subs over the last few months.

Thanks for the info. I had a brain cramp about the weird reporting schedule.

5 bucks short of a payout. Disappointing since I thought I'd get over the finish line this month based on the number of sales. It's really annoying not having a running earnings tab. There's really no excuse for it.

In last three months, IS has passed Shutterstock in both downloads, earnings and average royalty per image in my case.
