Sure looks like it, in my searches the same old nonsense with almost zero DLs  seem to be back. Pitty,  cause I have had a good week here.

Sure they did something. My already pathetic downloads went down to 50%. Seems like old bestsellers are getting priority over newer files.

As evidenced by the different results found, there was a change, but the change wasn't the same on every search. There was a change somewhere between Monday night and Tuesday night. I have two keywords I use, and on one of them, my 'check' file went up about five places, and on the other keyword, my check keyword went down about 15 places - but in the latter case, my file is getting pushed down by more and more recently accepted Vettas. But other than my file, there was still an overall change in best match results.

Well Im still having good days so I cant really complain. Still, it amazes me, after all these years of unstable searches, they havent understood, a shakey and edgy best match, is mainly what scares people off from exclusivity.
In my case its ONLY the actual paranoid search changes which has stopped me from exclusivity the past 3 years. Interesting how many others?
Seems to me this new IS boss, is reaching and forever reaching, not really knowing which leg to stand on. Undecided

BTW, Sue, in my searches we are back to files with zip DLS, etc, not very exiting for buyers I must say.

+1 on that.  At one time, I would have liked to go exclusive with istock for RF and use sites like alamy for RM but they put me off with a best match change that more than halved my earnings a few years ago.  They could of so easily become such a big microstock site that the others wouldn't of been worth using but they made the big mistake of not looking after their contributors.  If their commissions were just a bit higher and they didn't mess around with the best match, I'm sure they would have most of us as exclusives, and they would be making much more money.  Its amazing how a few decisions can make the difference between success and failure.

There's an interesting book by John Kay (a Scottish economist):
Obliquity: Why Our Goals Are Best Achieved Indirectly
in which he basically maintains that people will earn more by doing things with passion instead of just looking for profit.
A simple concept which iStock failed to understand.

Hi!

Old thread this, even so, if the search was a joke then,  just have a look at it NOW! Graphic-guy at an engineering corporation phoned me on Friday, last week, setting together an Annual-report, I recommended IS, to him over 2 years back,  well, he needed half a dozen shots of engineering parts and ofcourse he couldnt find the ones he was looking for and asked me to help explaining the search mechanisms, etc.
I said, well, we hardly know ourselves how to search in that place, its become too messed up.
Anyway, I ended up directing him to another site,  rather that then spending half hour explaining something impossible.
