Hi Leaf:

I checked the images I added and they are not in your managed lightboxes Sad
I followed the instruction as described in my last reply.
Sorry for the inconvenience; maybe I will try again tomorrow.

Thanks much,
Stinkyjess

Hmm well if you followed what you said in your previous post it seems you are doing it wrong... - it sounds like you are trying to add it to a lightbox on the istock site, but you should be adding it on microstockgroup.

All you basically have to do is go to this page
http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php?action=istocklightbox

and type in the image numbers of the images you want to add.

Hi Leaf:

I did as you suggested, typing in the istock image number into the provide web page and this is what I got (in red):

Microstockgroup Istock Lightboxes

There was a problem adding this image to the Healthy Foods lightbox
It looks like you still need to add the appropriate banner to this image.

Here is the text you need to put in the description

Click the thumbnail to go directly to the image edit window
(remember: you need to be logged in to Istock to edit the file)[/font]

So that is what i did, going to my image page on istock and paste the above url onto the " Add To A Lightbox" description window. .

Please advise.

No, that is wrong.

You have to ad that text to the image description. you do that by going to the image page on istockphoto site- then..

clicking on the 'edit file information' link

then add the text to the description of the image

THEN, go back to microstockgroup and type in the image number and lightbox in the forms.

Hi leaf

Is it OK to add referral program links to the lightbox code, after the images have been added to the lightbox?  I tried doing it beforehand but then it didn't recognise the banner code of course...

Thanks for all your work on this, it's a great idea.

sure - that is fine.  Do you get a referral credit when someone clicks on your lightbox?

Not just from a click, no - I've never checked, but I assume it saves a cookie when the link is clicked and if the user joins iStock and buys credits within something like two weeks or whatever, iStock give you $10...  so it would really only work here if someone new went to the lightbox FROM the link in the image description, then joined, etc.

Not all that likely in this case perhaps, but whatever, it does no harm, and I've earned $50 from referrals so far.  I put referral links on all my cross linked images.

Oh, I think you have to have signed up for the referral program too of course...

yeah, i have a referral link, I was just surprised that you can get credit from them clicking a banner, because they would already be online at istock if they clicked it.... but it could be true.

Does it takes some time before images show up in the lightbox?
The one I added yesterday to the beverages lightbox showed up almost immediately, but the photos I also added yesterday morning to the older lightboxes are still not visible today.

Well, I can't swear to it working, I'd seen it used that way by others, that was all.  After all, the images can be viewed by someone who isn't a member (or isn't logged in) so if they were to click it, it would count.

Probably a stupid question but I'll ask anyway.  When looking at the list of lightboxes and clicking on the c for the code, I can't seem to cut/paste that code.  I've tried highlighting and it won't work.  Is there a trick to this so I don't have to manually try to copy the code?

Thanks,

Stacy

I can't copy either.  I keep using old code with updated info.  Once I did it wrong, though...

Adelaide

I usually tried to add a picture that didn't have the banner yet, then the site refreshes, telling you that you need to insert the code. You can copy it there.

yeah, trying to just add a dummy image is the best for now.  For some reason when using Internet Explorer (and probably other browsers) you can't copy and paste a 'warning box' text.  With firefox you can copy the text.
