Title: Minimum standards on istock?
Post by: santosa laksana on April 27, 2012, 19:03
 ???
Hello all

I am a new member on istock. And I suffered several instances of rejection in the sample should be sent, for reasons still below the minimum standard istock. In fact I think I have a picture like the one on istock on the landscape. Is there any advice for me on istock?

thank you

regards

I have sent 3 comtoh samples. And I sent him three times and was rejected. I have to wait again for 14 days. This is a very long time for me. I have to cry "luiss" .... ^ _ ^ ...

honestly I donīt see a picture in your CanStockPhoto portfolio that is worth the try, I would shoot a few tons before and do some research online, best of luck

getting onto istock will be WAY more harder than getting accepted at canstock... so get using your new camera and make some good stock shots that have a purpose behind them.

If so, why do CanStock approve images? if it is below the minimum standard? Did you have an opinion about this? :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Presumably their acceptance standards are much lower than iStock's, but I've no personal experience of them.
But I'm sorry I have to agree with what the others have said above.

I have highlighted "shoot a few tons" and would change that to just "learn how to shoot".  No need to shoot tons to get into Istock if you know something about what you are doing.  When I submitted five years ago, I gave them one isolation, one model shot and one wildlife shot and got in.  They want not only technical quality but also want to know if you have breadth to your skills.  Not sure specifically what you are submitting, but if it's three nature-landscape images you probably won't get in.  Are you trying to get in with your illustrations? Or just as a photographer? Both require separate acceptances.

Oooh, Thanks for the info.

It's perfectly reasonable, this might be the cause of rejection at istock.
Was very pleased with your advice, I'll try it 14 days later. Three examples of different images, yes, I understand.
Thank you brother.

A good way to learn how to make photos that will be accepted at istockphoto.com is to read the posts and answers in the istock forum "Critique Requests".... Spend a few hours in "Critique Requests" every week and you will learn a  LOT.

Good luck!

Just don't take some of the feedback literally.  Some people critiquing don't know what they are saying or doing.  Others are spot on, especially if they are inspectors like Donald.  He is always fair and accurate in his comments.
