Hello all,

I've tried in the past couple of months to get accepted to istockphoto, but somehow my files aren't considered good enough. After a few tries, iStock said to retry after 60 days, so okay, i did that and was rejected again. Now, after waiting 60 more days i'll have another go at it, but i'm sort of afraid they will reject me again  Embarrassed I do think i improved the quality of my files lately but not so sure  Undecided

Anyway, my question is this: which 3 images in my portfolio do you think would stand the best chance of getting accepted? Thanks for any help.

It looks like you have a lot of designs in your portfolio.  From my upload experience at istock it seems that they don´t really like finished designs too much, and rather prefer design elements.  .. or to put it another way, they don´t want a finished piece of work, they just want the parts so that the designer can create their own design.  But then they don´t want images that are too simple either.

You have a lot of nice images at shutterstock though.  I would pick the simplest least edited designs, ones without borders on them and such.

... no one. Your work is excellent and better than majority of IS submitters (included me). But if they rejected twice your work that means that they don't like this kind of images for initial submition. Forget Photoshop, take some "normal - real" photographs of your gir/boy friend, landscapes... After been accepted you can upload your entire portfolio and they will take it.

Rene is correct on this one. You've got nice work, but you really need to submit something much more straight forward for the application.

There's absolutely no reason why you been rejected, you do great work! I will follow Leaf and say keep it simple.

Wonderful pure, clean stock portfolio.  Very nice indeed.

I agree with everyone else - submit straight shots for your iStock application.

Ditto the Hatman.....   for some reason... IS is like that... I am primarily a landscape shooter.... they are accepted well and sell well with IS.  And once you are in the door... you may find it a little easier sliding in your graphics work.     Cool=tom

Ok, these are a lot of good tips for getting accepted, thanks all  Grin

Unfortunately i'm not really a good photographer, so submitting photographs to get accepted will do me no good. The rejection reason would be different, sure, but that's about it  Undecided

So what i'm going to do is submit the simple, straightforward designs. Nothing to fancy and hope for the best. If 'm rejected again, well then.. 60 days to learn to shoot some quality stock images with a camera i guess.  Wink

Thanks for the tips, i'll bring an update once accepted/rejected again  Smiley

You're applying for vector right? I ask because even though I love your non-vector art iStock general doesn't accept them even once you're accepted. Given your talent I'd apply to be a vector contributor.

For what ever reason Istock doesn't want many graphics outside of Vector graphics.  No matter how good they are!

I am resubmitting my application today as well ...

From what I've seen reading the various forums is that iStock in opposite contrast to Shutterstock does not seem to want any editing or processing in the application files. No eye popping colors that work so well at other places ...

I hope this advice helps the both of us ...
