Title: November stats in
Post by: ShadySue on December 19, 2018, 18:49
For me, worst Nov ever (started Dec 2006).
True, I haven't uploaded for over 2.5 years, so it's all passive income: but OTOH, I still see lots of reports about recent uploads not selling - for at least a year now.

I see they have made a DACS claim, and presumably my share was 30%. I don't remember them doing that before, and I have for a few years now claimed any relevant found in-uses along with my Alamy claim. I guess I'll have to sort that out with DACS.  :(

Horrible month but my RPD still higher than SS.

Horrible month but my RPD still higher than SS.

My rpd is depressing, but then I'm not on SS, Adobe etc.
Still, the overall total is still much higher than my Alamy total (different files).

The overall total is the best in November. More than SS with its depressing sub. But it was lower than October.

I am down 50%. My sales have progressively begun to regress since January. What an awful month.  But then again I haven't uploaded video there in quite some time.  Not going to get desperate and upload vids there for that kind of return.

Yep, another disappointing month. Is getting less and less after each month.

Quite alright, better than Shutterstock and Adobe combined...

I just noticed I got a DACS payment as far as I know only Alamy do that as well. They took 85% of it of course but its better than nothing...maybe the other sites trouser the lot?

Wow!... was my first impression when I saw the number.
-50% compared to previous month
-70% compared to previous year
-85% compared to my BME

Basically back to numbers some 8 years ago when I was doing microstock just for fun with some 100 travel snapshots.
And that was November, which tends to be one of my better months.  :o

On the rise compared to previous months, a bit behind SS, Adobe took over both.

November was a great month for me with adobe and an awful one for SS. December so far the opposite. Sales have been more of roller coaster for me lately.

Sorry David I make 3-4 times more a month on SS and yes my RPD is also higher on IS, some months. RDP doesn't take me out to dinner, dollars do.  ;)

I didn't check last month for Adobe, but I know the RPD there is highest of the three from the past. Earnings half of SS.

Nov Sales are pathetic.
Getting increasing amount of super cheap $0.03-$0.18 sales
Not worth the effort.
Getting paid more from middle tier agencies.
Probably going to drop them Jan 1st.

So 60Fps - 4k video for 0.63 cents - it's just bizarre. From January I will start to upload to other stock agencies.

So that's the thing? Anyone sold video in istock for more than 0.63?

It's nestled within the normal sales.

Good decision.
Video exclusivity at iS hasn't made any sense for years, if it ever did.

So it's worse for non-exclusive video?

I would imagine so (I don't do video).
Still, you may choose to focus not on individual sales, but average rpd or total $$ earned. I'm not sure that iS video fares well on any of these stats, but that's just from what I'm reading.

Indeed. For pictures it has some crazy 0.01-0.1 sells but the overall rpd and total is good. But for video it seems like it's not worth it. Plus it only accepts mov while the rest of the sites use mp4

November was a very bad month at istock. November RPI on Shutter is about 5,7 Tims higher than istock November RPI, November RPI on Adobe Stock ist about 5 times higher than istock November RPI.

Certainly - I've sold one for as much as $108.17 (presumably an extended license) but I've also sold them for a lot less, indeed, for as little as $0.11.

My overall RPD for video on iStock is $4.51, since ESP;  not very impressive!  I am non-exclusive for video though, and rarely upload any to iStock nowadays unless they're ones that never sold anywhere else as it simply doesn't seem worth it.

You do get better rates if you become Exclusive, but as they don't accept editorial video that isn't an option as far as I'm concerned.

hhahahaha, the esp site statistics say $105, but the email "Remitance" says $96, which is just under the payout threshold. What a * **.

EDIT: oh, they paid anyway. At least some good news.

:)

H*ck, if often seems like no stats on that site agrees with any other stat.
I don't think I've ever looked at that email 'remittance' before, but I just did, and it's 10c (sic, ten cents) over the site statistics (and the latter is what went into PayPal).
What on earth goes on there? There have been various explantions, but ...  ::)

Just to give my two cents
I ve upped two months ago around 40 videos to test if the low low royalties is a reality.

During two months I saw 5 videos downloaded. Wow! Really quick to sold!
Now I have my royalties for three videos: 0.30, 0.92, 0.36....
WOW really the worst sells I do with clips.

Of course no more upload, now I'll see in next month's the value of others downloads
