Title: Photo sales decline since June
Post by: Phadrea on September 06, 2015, 04:10
On the run up to june this year photo sales for me were showing a steady increase in sales but after june it has dropped, last month being the most dramatic. This month looks set to be even worse. Anyone else noticing thier image sales slump ?

Herg, i am totally with you  :(  I do experience a steady decline in sales since months. After all July this year has been my worst month ever since joining them in 2006. I only can remember my first years on IS where IS alone generated far more income than all those other agencies in total. Also new uploads seem to make hardly any sense. When inspecting views on new files there is a big black 0 (zero) behind them. So frustrating. May be exclusive members are still comfortable with their situation, as far as i am concerned there definitely is kind of disappointment ...

Yes, I see a decline on IS. However, other agencies have compensated all IS losses and more. This is good news. IS must realise they offer their contributors the worst deal on the market. I only hope this trend will continue.

For me it's slow on the big four but IS wins. VERY few downloads in the last month. IS is nearly non existent, while TS is making up mostly for that.  So if I pull in, say, $400 a month, $100 is IS and $300 is TS. I used to make $500 just from IS.

After PP I am usually at $450 for the month. With PP just about done for August I am at almost exactly $200 for the month, more than 50% down.

I've never known a slump like this in over five years. If this is the new norm then there's no point staying exclusive, I'll give it a couple months to see if things turn around.
With similar dismay over on the Shutterstock forums I wonder if all the buyers are going over to Fotolia/Adobe. Feels like the beginning of the end for the established sites.

IMO, there is no need to wait to quit exclusivity anymore, because I waited 2 years for that but never stopped the decline trend and now it does not look like that will change, you can be sure you are doing the best to leave.

I don't know how it really is, as I'm not contributing to them. However, poll results suggest something else. At the moment, SS 80 and IS 41.8.

August '15 was my worst August by far for $$ since August '07, when I was only exclusive for part of the month, so not directly comparable.

After a slightly better week last week, this week I had 3 out of 5 weekdays with 0 credit downloads.

Both iS figures have changed a couple of times this week, indies up, exclusives down.

I don't take the poll, many others don't either. Don't base your knowledge on a poll of volunteer answering. Some votes could be company fake. We don't know who or how many take poll. It has no valid backing of statistical.Only 11 places have enough votes to make the poll.
