Just wondering how many other people are experiencing static RC totals in spite of istock sales? I'm aware that it's a known bug (there is a thread on istock forum) - but wondered how many folks here are affected. My RC totals haven't changed for at least two or three months.

I just recently noticed that too.  I hadn't seen the thread about it.  I've been ignoring my RC's ever since they took away the added credits for photo plus and left all independent contributors at the Main level despite early words that they would be moving some of our best to higher levels.  I had been on track to at least maintain my current level but once they made the change I gave up caring because there was no way it would happen.

Everyone is affected, AFAIK.

As per usual, Lobo says they know about the problem, and will fix it "soon". That was back in June, I believe, when they stopped updated.

Perhaps this is Getty's way of saying they are dropping the RC system? Everyone will get 15% / 30% from next year, on. Or maybe 10% / 20%, ha.  >:(

If they cut the royalty percentages again, many more exclusives will leave. It's already nearly unsustainable for exclusives with plummeting sales.

RC count has been frozen for 6-8 weeks for me - but the whole thing is academic since I'm 6,000 away from the next level with the year more than half over - it might as well be 60,000

They just can't seem to get *anything* right at istock......except recoupments. They're pretty efficient on the old recoupment front.

As I said many times before, RC system is a very bad thing for contributor. The canister level % that used to be before was the best system for % for contributor. I'm diamond, I was very much affected by RC so I quit exclusivity and I not regret it. Things are getting worst and worst at IS with PP and Sub that don't count in RC !

I have to wonder if you are correct about "dropping the RC system". They have grandfathered in levels for two years, and they are not even counting the new subs into RCs at all which doesn't make any sense. Who knows.

They're no doubt up to something, and it probably won't be to our benefit.

Or else they're even more monumentally incompetent than we previously thought.

Is there any third option?

Well, my RC tally seems to have been magically updated. We are almost exactly 2/3rds of the way through the year and my updated RC levels are almost exactly 2/3rds of the way to me retaining my current level. Curious that...

I can't find any notification in iStock Forums. Anyone else with updated RC values?

Yes, they were updated some time last week, not long after they announced that it would be happening soon.

However, unlike you, I'm a long way down from last year, and highly unlikely to reach my target to keep my current percentage. I suspect the fact that they bothered to restore them, rather than letting them quietly fade away, means they might well impose the targets this time - RCs must be a drain in manpower and server resources, which they otherwise seem to struggle with.

Changes are happening to the RC system by 2015. It has to. You cannot lock exclusives into an RC agreement while at the same time selling a subscription service on the same website that takes away RC sales. It is going to run into a class action lawsuit on behalf of exclusives. My guess is they will scrap the program and offer a "good news everybody!" flat rate royalty that will of course be lower than what the RC system now allow but will offer a "promise" to hold that royalty for a few years. There will be enough suckers people to sign on to it. Keep exclusivity? It won't matter because thanks to subscriptions, "your milkshake got drank all up" anyway.

I know no one cares, but RCs have yet again stopped updating.

The last change happened on 6 Sep, reflecting sales through 4 Sep (as near as I can tell).

But since they've already said no one will be dropping a level, only those few who might climb to the next level would GAD (if any actually exist).

I am curious to know when they will "fix" Lobo

Didn't Lobo say everyone will be keeping their current RC rate in 2015?   The o ly changes are supposed to be for people moving up.

Oh.  Sorry, I didn't notice the date of your post.  :)

OT, but isn't this forum actually on YST (as in, Your Standard Time)?

For example, I am seeing this above:
Quote from: ShadySue on Today at 01:33 PM

But I suspect other people see other times, no?

Maybe, the forum used to be an hour different from GMT, which I assumed (without evidence) was Scandinavian time and is now the same as BST, which I assumed (?) was to do with our time changing for summer.
It's perfectly possible that it's been changed so that we all see it at our own time.t I had no way of even suspecting that until your post.

Still, I wrote the above before Lobo said we'd be keeping this year's percentage, which was a major relief, even if it could be pretty moot by January anyway.

Displayed time is actually an account setting, under "Profile > Account Settings > Look and Layout". The default time seems to be US Central Standard Time.
