I just got this email:

Quote
We regret to inform you that a refund has been issued for a purchase of your file #XXXXXXX:

This is in reference to the file downloaded on  Tesday XXXXXXXX,XX 2010, 07:18 AM in the amount of $ 0, Partial void no royalties were lost.

There are a number of reasons why a purchased file may be refunded:
...

What the heck does that mean?

The mentioned file doesn't even show up in my downloaded list...

I wonder if I contacted IS they would actually look into this matter and then deduct the money this file supposedly generated...?
It's a footage clip so it would have to be a bunch of credits.

Any takers?

I don't quite know what to make of the language but Istock seeking any type of take back from a contributor in May 2011 for a file sold in 2010 is shocking (well maybe not...).

$0 is probably just your commission - who knows what the buyer actually paid :-)

it says "partial void"  so being that it was last year it's possible that istock gave the customer a partial refund but they covered that and did not ding you any of your royalties.  yes, i think it is possible that there are still a few good things that istock does for its contributors now and then.
