I'm guessing they might also want to see what the effect on the exclusives becoming independent/leaving has been, so can predict what could happen if more exclusives do the same following another target hike. Also if/how many independents leave. And how many contributors have stopped/slowed uploading. versus how many have taken the challenge to shoot more/better. And what the effect of introducing editorial has been.
All of these will take time to compute, which they should have thought about before their rash promise of early-announced targets.
Forward thinking doesn't seem to be an iStock strength these days.

^ You know, about those of us who have left (and have big mouths) and the changes in best match ... while I would expect a drop with out the *alleged* bump from being exclusive, I can't help but wonder if there's a way for them to ding individuals in best match ... I wouldn't be surprised if there is. Sadly, I wouldn't put anything past them.

Until istock is sold, I have no confidence in them.

And what would change then?

Unless the purchaser is someone like Apple with coffers of cash it would most likely involve another parcel of debt to be serviced or investors clamouring for some return, out of the frying pan and straight into the fire.

The ideal situation would be an investor with a lot of money from a mature slow growing industry who was interested in investing in the fast growing world of digital images and the internet. Like , say, someone who came from an oil company and decided to get into stock images in a big way... Oh, wait, never mind!  Grin
