Just saw that in the newsletter. Good to see that they're increasing royalties, but I won't benefit from them any time soon. Still missing 90%+ of my portfolio from TS, even though as an independent I'm automatically opted in.

Never hit me until just now that the 5 image pack is crazy expensive. The whole pack thing looks very reminiscent of the SS plans, except the pricing of that 5 image pack, which at TS costs twice as much.

Guess they're trying to encourage buying of the larger packs, but as a 5 image pack buyer at SS (just bought one today actually), I'd never consider TS because of that pricing.

Nice, but with the small sample of images I tested my sales volume will still be too low to justify investing time in this. Plus, the case for this cannibalizing IS sales grows stronger as people report SS sales growing and IS sales falling off a cliff.

What is TS image pack? Does that mean TS royalties aren't going up across the board? Yeah it figures... typical iStock

Double? I see the prices in euros, and, at least in European maths, 49 euros has never been the double of 39 euros.

They said the royalties are going up, but they didn't say anything about whether or not image pack prices are going up as well.

I can't imagine why they'd do this absent some benefit for themselves, so then I wonder what that benefit is.

They don't care about independents as they've already (theoretically) forced us all into the PP. I say theoretically as I'm still sitting at 25 out of 2500 moved over because it's apparently too hard to move content from one Getty family site to another.

Exclusives currently have an opt out, so possibly they're hoping to entice more exclusive content over there - but it's hard to see how they'd do that with image pack pricing vs. increasing the subscription royalties.

My guess is that they're going to be forcing more content that previously would have gone to IS directly into the PP and they're hoping to forestall the massive howling about that by upping the Image Pack royalties. Image packs are credit bundles under another name and with slightly different rules.

If it isn't any of those, what else could it be. No one could possibly believe they're trying to do something solely to benefit contributors...

It is interesting that the exclusivity perks are scaled back so hard. The percentages are not being applied. If non-exclusives are getting 20% then the 45%-level exclusives are only getting 25%. That's not new, though.

Well in dollars it is double. It's listed at $99, compared to the same plan at SS which runs $49.

What percentage of sales are from Image packs anyway? 5%? 10%? If they wanted to attract exclusives they would have to increase the standard  royalty and let DLs count towards RC totals.

I haven't seen TS earnings for January; neither at iS nor StockXpert.  Aren't earning usually posted by the 15th?

What's the raise for us, we (indies) are currently at 28c, what is the new rate going to be, I guess it's variable according to different image pack prices. Why can't they just give us the end figure?

That's for subs. This raise seems to only affect image pack downloads. As far as I understand it, these rates are for images downloaded through the packs, similar to SS ODs. At TS, we'll be getting $2.98-$4.00 for single image sales from a pack purchase, up from $1.98-$2.40.

The $0.28 per sub stays the same.

Yeah, but contrary to SS, "ODs" don't happen too often and I got only 1 EL so far too. And we still get less than at SS (if you're at 36 or 38c level)

That's all I get are 28 cents subs so the 40 price plans and all the percentages mean nothing.

Are you certain? In December my average sale comes in at about 40c (with one EL among other stuff). The larger sales are infrequent but some of them turn up every month.

This shows how desperate IS with they arrogant promises to Getty (when they are choking StockXpert) how they will be they loud fart in the ass in process of feeding the new ThingSTCK wannabe beast.
THINGstok'a expected from IS exaggerated GonG fart but they Get(ty) from IS only stinky silent Pffff of promised uploads to kill SS...

With this new royalties to exclusives they want to say.
C'mon under our blanket, we all will do the silent Pffff fart so it will be much warmer and you brain certainly will not work reasonably, and thats what we are looking for...

Any how lets say good news but what I got from that when they are too much late with last month/s earnings. Or when you see the shameless man(agency) with blushed (pig) cheek, then I do not know how much they stole from me...

I can never understand what on earth you are on about.
All these "iStock" comments and random rants just don't make sense to me.
Can someone translate ?

I can't. I don't usually understand them either, but a) they are pretty funny and entertaining and b) I think he's on the same side as I am about istock, so I'm OK with them. I just notice an usual fixation on butts/farts.  :D
