I'll be arriving in Berlin on Friday morning 8 am. Planning to get a glimpse of Checkpoint Charlie, or something similar prior to the welcoming party. Anyone care to join in?

I have something scheduled at 4:30 but before then I have the morning and early afternoon free.  I'd be game to check something out.  Are you staying at the hotel?

Yes, I am staying at the hotel. Meeting point: The front reception desk around 10am, and we'll see from there?

There was sooo much to see there when I was stationed there. You cannot see it all in a weekend or a week. I envy all of you who can go. Enjoy!

I don't think we'll get to see all of the expo in the weekend let alone Berlin! ;)  I'll be happy if I find a good coffee shop

I am not sure where the Expo is located but I will recommend one fun thing. Go to the TV Tower in the evening for dinner as it is getting dark. There is a rotating restaurant up there. It looks so cool seeing the streets leading towards it.

Here is the tower on the right.

Time for some sleep now but before I do a little update.

The conference has opened up with some pre-registration and a great party / get-together this evening at the hotel

... looking forward to everything tomorrow and having conversation with people where I don't have to yell :)

I'll be posting things tomorrow on twitter.. and perhaps a little here as well.

LSD72, you're quite right, that really is a fun thing! It rotates much quicker than it used to (they've speeded up since the wall came down). There might be a bit of a wait to get in though. If anyone's interested: from the conference where the hotel is you can get the tram, it takes about fifteen minutes to Alexanderplatz where the TV-Tower is.

Best parts of the program for me:

1. PitchFest
2. Microstock Photograher's Lifestyle
3. Über Portfolio Review

And the rest was amazing too!

My top three:
1. Microstock Photographers lifestyle
2. Über Portfolio Review
3. Microstock workflow

The parties where great too. A pity I had to catch my flight and miss the Fotolia Party tonight.

A big congrats to Lee and Amos for pulling off a great conference.  It was exceptionally well organized, had loads of great speakers, the venue was a perfect choice, there was a super turnout .. I can't really think of much I would have wished was different.  Sure, more people, more tracts, more sessions, more more more would have been great - but there needs to be something to build up to next year :)

My favorite was the Portfolio review - nice to hear the different thoughts on the images.  I also found it interesting hearing the various ways different microstockers were making a living in the lifestyle session (good choice of speakers Lee)

It was also great meeting everyone of course .. although, I'm always surprised how quickly the time goes and how many people I didn't get a chance to meet.

Thanks Tyler and everyone else.  It's great to get that feedback, and what we said in the opening wasn't BS - it really wouldn't have happened without all the support that we received from everybody, not least our moderators, Tyler! Thanks for that.

It was definitely a lot of fun given how quickly it grew. I too would have liked more, but there were limits to how much we could grow given the compromises we made to ensure the first event created a strong foundation. So next year you can expect tracks for illustration and video as well as photography. We've also received a lot of very constructive feedback which will help us improve and grow the next event too.

And in addition to coming, moderating and shooting so much of the event, Tyler, thanks so much for sharing so much of it here at MSG for us.

We've just posted a quick blog post over on the Microstock Expo website with some of the official photos and info about the video footage. We're also putting more and more of the photos on the MEXPO Facebook page.
