The Friends of Canadian Veterans invite interested Canadians and photography clubs across our country and beyond, to participate in the creation of a new book. We ask you to send a photo of your local war cenotaph. This beautiful coffee table book will commemorate our glorious fallen by illustrating selected photographs of war memorials throughout Canada. High portions of the proceeds of each book will be donated to The War Amps of Canada, especially the CHAMP program and for Legion fundraisers.

On Nov. 5th in Ottawa there will be an unveiling of 5 new memorials!!!    Get new batteries!!   We will be at the new unveiling of one on that same day in Kitchener, Ontario,  so the momentum for new monuments is astounding.   A few weeks ago there was the new monument dedication at Queen"s Park in Toronto.

Become a part of this creation dedicated to honouring our war veterans.

WWII history - canada
WWII history - general

I can't say I am a history buff, quite the opposite actually, however your statement got me researching because I know I learned that Canada was heavily invovled.  Not quite as many people to draw from as the states, but just as much effort was made.  There were 132 million american citizens compared to just over 11 million canadians at that time.

Approx. 10% of the entire population went from both countries.
Don't know about the american stat, but 40% of all canadian men between 18-45 enlisted in the military during that time.
