Title: Selling through multiple agencies?
Post by: kmclachlan on October 28, 2016, 15:02
Hope this is the right place to ask.

Over a decade ago I was selling stock photos on the main microstock sites. I ended up with identical photos uploaded to all platforms and sell through them all. I realize over the years many things have changed but I haven't been quite as close to the microstock game.

I am currently selling with a more premium site (500px), but am considering doing something with my "b-roll", photos I'm more than confident wouldn't really be a good fit for 500px but might sell elsewhere.

So then I was hoping to get some advice from you guys what you think might be the best step? Should I go back to submitting those photos to all the microstock guys? Can I be photo-exclusive without being photographer-exclusive to any of them and would that even work out better?

Any guidance you guys could provide would be tremendously helpful - you guys are certainly way ahead of me! :)

I would upload everything to everywhere right now.  Some agencies offer image exclusivity but I would say it isn't worth it at this moment. Maybe in a couple of years FL/ adobe stock will have captured enough of the market to justify having some images exclusive with them  :D
