They have a strong history of keeping promises when they're disadvantageous to content providers.

The obvious question is, why if you have once ounce of sanity would you even contemplate for a millisecond submitting to IS?

Who cares about IS, they're a dead horse not worth flogging. This is just the next one in their long history of missteps.

Because
SS - is going down the pan
FT - are ok, if you didn't get a face on following Dollar Photo Club
DT - is dead
AL - sells once in a blue moon
and day jobs here are not that easy to find!!!!!!!

I invite everyone to write to IStock an indignant letter to them. They'll answer a standard response and then you can continue communication to show your discontent with their decision. Maybe it will have some effect - we can try.

Does anybody have a real email address, or is it only that form......?

I wrote with site form and five days later received an answer from address: newbielink:mailto:contributorhelp@gettyimages.com [nonactive] and now I continue to communicate through e-mail. Maybe you can write to this address - I'm not sure how it works.

Thanks for that but this is the reply:
ATTENTION: Thank you for contacting us, but this email address is no longer in use.
Looks like that form or nothing.

Probably that e-mail works only if you have an active ticket (should be some reference number in the header or something).

Does anyone here really think a letter (or a ton of letters) will make the slightest difference in their position??

StockSubmit helps you submit to a dozen (or more) agencies all at once.  How do you think anyone at SS thinks that is an advantage to them?  YOU may like the feature, but I very much doubt that SS likes it.

I am now retired, but spent my career in High Tech. I can assure you that they are looking for how to create a competitive  advantage.

Making themselves fully compatible to an app that allow you to submit the exact same footage across multiple agencies?  Nope. Not even in the top 100 features they are considering...

Yeah, you're probably right. Sadly.

On the other they may just think they are missing out on content.....maybe....just......  :(

Do they only want material from those who don't mind going through complex hoops for peanuts?

Basically, yes.  They see themselves as the 800 lb gorilla. If you upload at anyone, you will upload to SS.  Once you have done that, you may decide it isn't worth going to all the small agencies.  Thus, SS gains if StockSubmitter dies...

The thread is about IS, not SS :)

I think what he was trying to say is that IS misjudged, they aren't the default choice, so if IS moves out of stock submitter its they who'll die and not the others
