Title: Trying Stock Submitter
Post by: dbvirago on October 28, 2017, 19:30
I think I've tried this or similar in distant past, but didn't keep with it.

Now I'm trying to simplify my stock business and streamline some of the work. It seems to come highly regarded, but after reading some of the posts and reviews, I have a question. The developer is welcome to jump in also, but want some real life answers from users if you don't mind.

Why and how does it save time?

Currently, I have an automated FTP process send my daily uploads to the 8-10 agencies I regularly submit to. Then every morning, I go to each one and go through whatever process is involved to finish. Metadata is already done via Lightroom. As you know, some agencies are a few clicks to finish while others take more time, picking categories and such.

From what I've read, it grabs the files and then I go to each agency and do the things required to make sure the upload is ready. So how is this different from doing it on the site. I don't mind spending the money if it will help, but just wanted to know more about how that happens. I would probably need the Casual or Pro level subscription.

TIA

you could try xpiks that is totaly free and has a very clean interface but it does not submit your content like stocksubmitter an you will still have to visit the sites to finish your upload process

You can let StockSubmitter pick categories for you based on keywords and such. Works pretty good, sometimes you need to adjust it manually.

Stocksubmitter is especially useful for saving time on submitting to agencies, specifically those that require you to zip your files.

I have read where people adjust keywords per agency. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Are there any docs anywhere? I've seen 2 youtube videos. The help file doesn't exist.

The key feature of the program is that you don't need to go to every agency website and fill the custom fields manually.
The program will do it for you and submit your files for review.

Thanks, I've been working with Dmitry and think I have it all worked out.

Except for the fact that apparently, there is no documentation anywhere.

Yes this is a huge issue we have at the moment, but we're working on that and we do already have a couple of video tutorials to help the new users.

It is now using the same subscription model, but is providing 2 months of subscription at the cost of one.

Currently uploading 10 files to 10 sites.
Been about 3 hours. Some files ready to upload, some submitted, some ready. some pending,
Not much has changed in a while.
How long does it usually wait between first upload and final?
Is it going to upload the ready to upload, even though this was attempted already?

Thanks

If files are ready to upload it means the upload process didn't happen or didn't succeed. Please check the "Errors" button for the possible errors.

If files are still "uploaded" and not "submitted" it means the files either still didn't appear at the agency website (check the unfinished list at the website) or there was an error during submission (check the "Errors" button).
