Title: Title of jpeg image truncated on 64 characters - what to do about it.
Post by: Bringolo on February 09, 2017, 13:43
Recently I started using Stocksubmitter, and I like it!

However I ran into a problem and don't know how to solve it:
The titles of a jpg are truncated at 64 characters. Which is rather annoying, especially for my editorial images that have long titles.

My workflow is, that I use Lightroom for keywording, titles and captions. Then I export the images and use stocksubmitter to upload and submit the images to the agencies.

I looked into the exif/metadata using the metadata viewer from Jeffrey Friedl (http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi (http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi)). And I saw that the title is in two groups. It is in the XMP group: the field Title contains the complete title. And it is in the ITPC group: the field Object name contains the title but truncated at 64 characters. And this field is used by Stocksubmitter.

I have two questions:
- is my observation correct
- how can I get the full title in Stocksubmitter

Thanks for any help!

You are correct, your metadata editing software is truncating Title in IPTC field to 64 characters.
You can override the default metadata reading priority to XMP in StockSubmitter using drop-down list in the top right corner of the main program window.
