I sell 2-5 images a year, make around 10 dollars.I think I have 200 files there.

Maybe if you have thousands, it will generate some more.

I really like their self publishing system.

But at least they do sell.

If you like other peoples images, some of them will like yours but that doesn't mean you will sell them.

Closed my account there. Not worth taking the chance to leave my work there knowing they are likely to fold.

I keep my account open there for only one reason: they offer a full back-up of my images.

Sounds good? Maybe they are selling your images offline without your knowledge. No one will give full backup at no extra cost.
There is a server cost associated and nothing in this world comes for free.

I doubt they will fold, they sell a lot, it's just we don't see much because it's spread too thin.

1) Any microstock site can sell our images without our knowledge…………
2) If you upload your images to Mostphotos guess where they go: on their servers, like any other sites.
3) But unlike other microstock sites they offer you the possibility to download back your full res images.
4) As the images are already hosted on their servers I dont see where is the added cost here.

I had 500 images with them and no sale for one year. I closed my account. Not worth my time.

1) Any microstock site can sell our images without our knowledge………… Agree but, a good and established agencies will never do so. There is difference in some sale, rare sale and no sale. Mostphotos is giving you likes with no sale, so question is where is money coming from?.
2) If you upload your images to Mostphotos guess where they go: on their servers, like any other sites..... The server bandwidth, data storage, ram, hosting is never for free, there is lot of resources needed to keep everything standing. And when there is lot of images the cost increases.
3) But unlike other microstock sites they offer you the possibility to download back your full res images... I really like this feature but just for this feature risking all your portfolio is not good, I have closed my account with them. You have many other secured options for this.
4) As the images are already hosted on their servers I dont see where is the added cost here... Same at point #2

They have NEVER sold anything for me even when times were good.  I doubt it is customer related. MP has been a lowest of low tier agency for years.  There's a reason for that and it isn't having plenty of customers spread amongst floods of images that makes them low tier.

1) What do you know about what do "established agencies"? You really think that SS or FT or iS don't cheat you? You speak about trust? Look what Getty is doing…
Personally I trust a lot of more some little companies (having risks to lose all) than most of the big ones (having few risks to lose all).

Mostphotos doesn't give you "likes", their contributors do it (I agree that it is childish and useless).
Where is money coming from? They pay 15 ¢ for a sale (!!!) and keep the rest in their pocket, this is from where comes the money. And, as I have understood, they sell more images with the titles and keywords in Norwegian and Swedish, to the Nordic market, but this does not mean that they have no market at all. Their business just does not orbit around your or my country, that's all.

2) They don't need any bandwidth to keep "inert" data on a server, they just use the same space that they will use even if you will not have the back-up possibility. Today HDD, NAS and servers cost not so much.
Ram? Ram has nothing to do with storage.

Well, if you are happy to not be with them it is your choice.
I am not unhappy (I cannot say that I am happy) to be with them, this is my choice.

Have a nice day.

They are usually towards the higher end of the low earners.  So although they don't sell a lot, they are probably doing much better than many other low earning sites.  As they don't have the expense of paying reviewers, I suspect they are doing OK.

I made 310,-€ since 2008 with 3000 Files. I don't upload to them anymore but I don't see a risk to leave my images there.

Perhaps. That makes some sense to me.  But I have no way to validate since I cut ties with all of the lower tier. Now it's the higher tiers that are become lower tier in terms of their revenue.  They might remain at the top because, as you say, they will be the top of "the new" lower tier ;).

"As they don't have the expense of paying reviewers, " Yes but judging by the quality of reviews these days thats only a sack of peanuts every few days  :o

I have begun to follow the members of Mostphotos located on the front page to get an insight into what is demanded by the customers by seeing what they sell and how much.

I hope I can increase my sells.

Well I have at least over a hundred likes. One thing that helps is to like other people's photos and some of them will return the favor.
In the last year however I only sold two pics.
