I've only got aprox 125 images, no DL's, lots of "views", but once the image falls off the radar, the views decrease dramatically (due to the inane "rating" system). Will give them another month and will delete portfolio after that. The rating thing will potentially cost them their existence.

Flemish - congrats on your sales.

No sales, that is zero Euros, converted to $ is easy, $0.00. (Talking about their crazy rating system and zeros, I have a photo that kicked of with a zero rating right after upload while at zero views and zero comments. You can't get crazier than that! No hope of sales on that one.)

As LO found out, views doesn't mean sales. You have the Flickrish "market" and the Buyers market and those apparently aren't the same. I hardly comment or rate, and the 2 images sold were typical cold "boring" plastic stock like a business couple on a computer and a model concept shot, both isolated. One got a rating of 6, the other one had no rating at all.

I guess the keywords still do their job for buyers. There are some stunning highly rated landscapes etc... on MP, but what sells, like everywhere are the neutral usable things, like the stick-it photo of Leaf. I don't think a buyer is going the be impressed by the community rating if he finds the right image down the list.

I don't care for site set-up but I love the smell of Euros in the morning.

Had my first sale late last week. Yes, the Euros are nice.

Also, 2 or 3 times I uploaded a photo that got a pretty quick response with ratings and for a day or two those photos seemed to sell well on other sites. I think maybe people see photos on mostphotos with high ratings and then look for it cheaper on other sites.

dbvirago,

Yes. I was able to receive an immediate payout as they're default pricing puts you over the minimum payout with just one sale RF sale Smiley

well I started uploading. This rating thing is interesting luckily I haven't been hit with anyone giving me anything bad yet, and the ones I've given, well I was brought up with if you can say anything nice dont say anything at all so have been a little reserved as such.

but I notice what is being rated highly is more the artistic (maybe people are like me and less likely to say gee that's a stunning tomato on white background etc and open it and rate it) and so this is stuff that seems to be higher in search.

so for those who have sales, is your 'stockier' stuff that is selling or is it more artistic stuff?

I just dumped a good 150 images on there in the last few days...I'll continue dumping the rest of my 750 or so images.  It's an awesome site, I just hope I can make a few sales! Smiley

No luck there. Had one of my digital art pieces (if you can call them that) at the top position (for the last month) for a few weeks but nothing happened, no sales whatsoever. It has a MP rating of 866.4 points. But it's no stock material whatsoever and I'm after all content with the support outcome it yielded. Love the site design, but the sales, well, can't say I'm happy about them (especially cause I assumed that that one lonely photo at position 1 would "call in" customers to my other more stocky material)Wink

p.s.: But I'll continue uploading. No reason to stop. And I'm sure those that sell stuff deserve it more than I do. I upload only because it's supereasy to do so. FTP/process/confirm. Very smooth.

Had a couple during my 2 months there: no complaints, as the site is still in the process of taking off, modifications, figuring out its bearings in the marketplace. I like the site, and its unconventional approach (which may be either good or bad - time will tell).
