"...Mostphotos has no future in microstock..."

With all due respect - but I have to disagree. We all know that it is very difficult now for any new site to succeed, but they do most things right, and after some kinks are straightened out, I think that they have a reasonable chance of being successful. Maybe not on SS or IStock scale - but StockXpert or 123RF for sure.

I get my first sale yesterday which is quite a surprise as Mostphotos has no future in microstock IMHO: this is a photo sharing site more than a micro stock agency.

Hmmm. I had the impression that they sell the images for EURO and not sharing them with other members.

AFAIK, before becoming a microstock agency, Mostphoto was actually some sort of photo sharing site: the result is that many contributors became stock photographers just because they where just here before. It's amazing to see how many contributors never heard about model releases or copyright... at least it was the case a few months ago.

I may be wrong and it is not that important: Mostphotos is indeed an interesting site. The problem is that many (most?) contributors just have no sale at all here.

Yesterday I had my first sale in months: a 12€ commission is nice indeed, but I have had more sales at LO before and you know what happens.

I suppose they don't have to pay reviewers but it is going to cost a lot to host all those sub standard photos and I would like to see more sales before I have any faith in their future.

At least the Alexa statistics is showing an improvement in traffic. I also receive one Euro for a referral sale the other day.

I've made 3 sales in the last 2-3 months.  I'm loving the site - I hope the sales increase.  1 a month is nice, since you get more per sale...but at least 2 or 3 per month would be a lot nicer Cheesy

I´ve sold 3 so far. And now when they plan to sell web-sizes it will boost everything up for sure.

ditto...I like Arian's up-front accessibility and the site's layout. Still HATE the goofy rating system allowing snipers to shoot you down in the search results....but I'll give them a few more months to to if they can sort out whether to be a stock site or a vanity site.

Just had another 5 sales in June (3 in one day), bringing my total there to 10 sales since last October.

1500+ images in portfolio.

over 1000 portfolio, 2 months online, 0 (zero) sales.
MP goes to my UFO ("upload & forget") category.

If admins will buy a couple of my images, then I will upload a couple thousands more.
Maybe....

Unfortunately, I have uploaded approximately 300 images over the last three months (all of which sell on other sites)......and have zero sales to date.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, but if nothing sells by the end of summer, I'm likely to stop uploading to the site.

I went a couple of months with no sales but had another 1 last month.  I am only sticking with them because I can take the money straight out.  Hopefully they will start selling smaller sizes for lower prices and that will increase the volume of sales.

Yes! I agree 100%, they are talking about selling "websize" photos for 3€ each. I hope they start with that soon.

I really like the way they are evolving, they are also going to start a more active marketing soon.

I think its all good news! Wink

I got my 2nd sale there in June  Wink

It resulted in a net of over $17.00 after conversion from being paid in Eurosand. I also noticed that I have Euros from referral sales coming in at 1 Euro per referral sale. With the exchange rate hovering in the $1.50-$1.57 Range that's a very nice referral commission.

I hope the sales continue  Grin

Scandinavia is a small market. They must go wide to USA, Canada etc.

well, i haven't tried MostPhotos but i have been with ScanStock which is also from Scandinavia.
It probably is true that being a small market there is fewer buyers.
My images with ScanStock has barely any views. 4 at the most after 3 months. The only big surprise is when I was about to delete my images,
I found that I had one sale.
That is impressive especially for my portfolio which has hardly any viewers.

Maybe it is just a case of marketing. So let's hope for the best
for both sites based in Scandinavia.

A little warning to all photographers joining MostPhotos!
Just a couple of days ago I made the decision of cancelling my account as a contributor to MP, after been there a month or so and having over 80 photos, half of them top rated, I started to realized that the site is a joke, half of the contributors there have very little idea of what digital photography is, don't take me wrong, they have a group of great and very talented photographers, but for the most of them, all they upload are images that no other site would even looked at, they look very pretty as a thumbnail, but ones you get closer, the amount of noise, out of focus, and artifact is incredible...and this are the same people judging and rating everyone else's work...(like a blind man giving an oppinion on your image)...I'm not trying to discourage anyone to upload there, just that the 25 euros bait is not worth the trouble...Once a buyer gets close enough to some of the pictures there, I can guaranteed you, he/she will never be coming back, or search any further for great quality work  on that site...Oh! and lets not leave out the attitudes and rudeness of some of the less talented members...but hey, guys and girl, you be your own judge on MostPhotos.com...you've been worn.

Best regards all...and keep on shooting.

M@m:

If you march in there thinking it´s just like the other sites around, your wrong Undecided The whole point with this site is to be different. Accepting all images is an attempt to prove that every image can be sold. And so far it´s petty much true, although a bit slow.

You´r right about bad quality issues here and there. Do u have a suggestion how to change that without reviewers?

There about to change the whole pointsystem. Everyones agreeing with you on that one.   All problems can be solved,
there´s no need to sneak out and warn people.

plus it´s free storage, and great people with a sence of humor.  When the ratings gone and advertising kicks in, it´ll be a great Smiley
