Well...cool that one of my 6 images on crestock sold only about a day after being approved. However...I submitted about 50 or so images and only 6 were accepted. 4 of those were PS illustrations. I had just sent an email to them before I got the sold image email to complain about one image in particular that was rejected for composition. I have never sent an email to argue about a rejection. But this was simply insulting. I have read the complains in many threads about their rejection rate, and I am no stranger to rejection. I have no problem getting rejected for all of the technical things, I have no problem getting rejected for some of my images based on composition, but when you reject most of my favorites that are strong in composition with no technical complaint and then accept only two of my photographs that are far from my most pleasing in composition I am confused! I am on the fence on weather to stay or go. I guess I will see what they say in return from my email.

yeah sometimes it is confusing for you to know you have done their thing.. maybe you done it in the way it is a mistake for them... try another thing similar to crestock....  Shocked

Do you mean something similar to what they have on their site or something similar to what they rejected but in a different way?

The Crestock philosophy: The highest standard in the Microstock industry for which we reward you with the lowest royalty in the industry.

Please don't waste your time with Crestock. It is bad enough what IS and FT did with the lowering of our commission. Don't encourage this trend by supporting agencies that still pays 25c subscriptions.

^^^ I agree, they have had new owners for months now and they could of listened to us and increased their subscription commissions but they have ignored it.  I'm not wasting any time on a site that pays the lowest subs commissions, I would get 25 cents there, Shutterstock pay me 38 cents.  I'm much better off if subscription buyers don't go to crestock.  It also stops the other sites increasing their commissions.

I don't think it's a coincidence that their earnings have fallen down the poll results.  I'm sure buyers want to have more choice, not less.  They aren't going to be tempted by a much smaller collection with crestock.  The reviewers aren't good at selecting what will sell and what wont.  I think that's one reason why sites that are very selective aren't doing very well.

When the new owners came in, I decided to try crestock again. Same results- absurd rejections on files that sold well elsewhere. I sent an email to support to close the account and got an email back from Steve Pigeon, the Chairman, asking me to stay on. In the email, he asserted that my rejection rate was far lower than the average. In addition, he said that of all the big changes they had in mind, the one thing they weren't going to change was the reviewer ( same person as always) and the review policy. In addition to miserably low sales and a weird collection curated by someone from another planet, they pay the lowest rates around ( so far). I never went back, and never will. Complete and utter waste of time. I'll say it again, because this site out of all of the sites really disgusts me- stay away.

Points well taken. I agree. I don't mind rejection when I can learn from it but this is just silly. They sent me an email back and told me to bear with them as they send my image back for further review. I think I will just ask them to close my account. Thanks!
