Hey guys,

Now that I'm more into the swing of this microstock thing, I'd like to get out and shoot more people and places. Does anyone use 1 generic release that is accepted by all the main sites? Or do you have to get people to sign and fill out multiple forms. Seems like no one will be willing if I ask them to do this.

Also wondering if everyone here uploads to all the lower tier sites or if its a waste of time?

Thanks
Rachel

Hi, Rachel.  I use the same release across agencies.  It's a slight modification of Getty Images' standard release.  The original has some strange language about which country's laws apply, based on wherever is closest to a Getty office.  I replaced that with specific reference to US law.  Every agency I've tried it with has accepted it without question.

Regarding lower tier agencies, I've tried a few.  I give them a good selection of my portfolio; if they don't deliver enough sales for regular uploads, I only add to them as they make sales.  I have an arbitrary sales threshold for making my determination, and another arbitrary figure to determine how many I upload if they make it worthwhile.

Hope that helps.

Not all but maybe worth testing the waters to see if any of them work for you....but would always prioritize the bigger sites if I have images ready to go

I have about 13 different releases, and I use them in multiple languages. sometimes, even with 13 releases, there are agencies that don't accept any of them including their own.

for example, and agency may come up with a new release after I had the previous one signed, and they will not accept their old release anymore, so I need a release from another agency to send to them.

I should add that the most accepted release I have is canstock.

I'm also using one standard release for all agencies. No problems whatsoever.  :)
