Sorry to hear about your applications. In the mean time, try to post your image to SS critique area, and once you get some positive feedback there, you will have a better idea what to submit in your next application.

You can also get someone to post images for you in the IS forum.

Good luck.

thanks for the info, i know its about finding my niche .  i live 15 floors up so with my trusty tripod  , i try to get good cityscape shots accross salford and manchester   with manchesters beatham tower being prominent  and i also carry my camera in my bag when going to work, (although you have to be careful getting DSLR out in downtown salford). do social street images sell? ive tried night cityscape work bulb exposure and it looks ok till you go to 100%  and i keep my eye out for the police helicopter. i would like to do night school course  but as a carer  i am on a 3 week rota  of 24 hour shifts,  isnt it pathetic when your really pleased you sold a photo for 36 cents but alas im addicted

Suljo, while we should all try to write properly, this should not be a place to put people down if they don't do it. If you have decided to call on someone for writing improperly, you should be certain that you write properly yourself.

Agreed, you can emit smoke signals and bonk your head with a stick, as long as it makes general sense, grammar school be damned.

Grammar is not the issue __ it's punctuation. Basic punctuation exists to make the text understandable to the reader. Most six-year olds know how to denote the beginning and the end of a sentence in their native language.

Sorry but I'm with Suljo. Writing stuff like that is just plain lazy and inconsiderate to the reader (as well as being one of my pet hates). If you're asking for help then at least try to make it easy for people to understand you.

Yes
you are AllRight. As all you see I am like 60/60% of us non native English speakers here but anyhow we are trying to articulate something useful.
I really try to articulate something useful like Pit from ending scene from Pulp Fiction, or like
Djordje Balasevic slabo Divanim Madzarski

I dont know why I was react but it was the first time to catch native English speaker with all this kind of (pravopisne nepismenosti)

I agree. It does take some effort to write properly, especially when people are so used to internet chatting and mobile text messaging that promote acronyms and bad punctuation in general. We should all make a reasonable effort to make ourselves understood easily here.

I understand your surprise, I only reacted because of the way you commented the guy's post. He is a new member and I would like that he feels welcome here. No hard feelings. By the way, in reference to your YouTube link, I don't speak Hungarian that well either :)

^^^ Must admit it never fails to amaze me how well so many of you non-native English speakers make themselves understood on these forums (most usually with almost impeccable grammar/punctuation). Thus my exasperation with a fellow Englishman __ it must make it even more difficult for you guys.

When I was in school we didn't have English as an option. We had to make a choice...French or Russian. So, I choose Russian. But thanks to movies and music I picked up English.
Anyway, it's important that we understand each other, right? :)
It's not a big deal if my grammar isn't perfect. :)

Things have really tightened up at IS. When I applied in Feb. 08 and was initially rejected (5 times), only had to wait a couple weeks to reapply, now it is 6 months. :o

daz314, I think you have some nice photos in your gallery and the love of photography shows. Especially like the straws which make a nice pattern and 3 apartment windows with plants. You seem to have a good eye for composition and capturing patterns. The Shutterstock forum Critique / Tips / Tricks is a great place to upload some samples to get input from experts before you apply again. Keep going! :)
