Hi Stock Folks,

If I shot the back of a lady where you only see her from the waist up to the back of her head do I need a model release? Also if she has her shirt off is this considered a nude shot? You would not see any of her front thus I am not sure?

Thanks.

Tom

A couple of years ago you would not of needed a release, but things have tightened up so much now that you need a release. I never ever shoot someone [unless they are paying me for a portrait] without a release.

I think the basic rule is even though you may not know who she is from the back her mother probably would.

yes you need a release.  rule of thumb:  if you  have to ask, then you need one.  Smiley
