i'm not concerned about competition..the problem is that thousand of poor files add to the mass of million poor files so when buyer search for terms they find everything but the terms searched...as you can see doing some easy research...and so buyer look only for popular photos killing any hopes to sell new files.

but i suspect most of people here don't live about stock but are only amateur.

You are clearly concerned about the competition. You may think your portfolio is godsend, but others will probably think it's mediocre and you're adding your mediocre images to an already saturated market that distracts buyers from buying good images.

You need to stop complaining about everything, especially about new contributors. Don't forget that you were a newbie once who wanted some success in the Microstock industry. If your work is so amazing, you shouldn't be concerned with new contributors, unless you're really not as good as you say you are.

Hi guys,

I read all the posts even though I was not very active in the answers ... I do not usually respond to people who make derogatory comments and do not bring anything good in a discussion. No need to name it ...  But, It allowed me to understand the reality and the fight for professional photographers or those who are more than amateurs (vs stocks vs amateur like me) ...

I also want to add that I did not start with 160 or 300 photos on stock, I uploaded around 20-30 pictures per week (more or less) ... since my debut 2 months ago.

Then, English is not my first language, so excuse me in advance for mistakes!

Have a great weekend.

But since you are much more advanced than me in the field of stock photography, I will share with you my SS portfolio. I am open to  reviews ... Many of my pictures were taken before buying my Panasonic G85 and my photography courses.

i have nothing against you i wanted to point.

i ws just critic the agency that still add contributor and images who only have the merit of steal some sales from other contributors. i have seen your portfolio. When i begin stock photography probably 95% of your images would have been rejected. It's not an offensive point.
The north korean photos are the only one who add something, cause there are not many. the rest are snapshots, because they are shot in dull light and subject is uninteresting.
I don't have nothing against you, and i'm sure in some years your skill will be much better with practice, but if afte 11 years this industry still add this kind of portfolio is clear that there is something going on who is not ok
i don't fear competition, i fear the fact that anything new is buried in 10 minutes by 10000 files with wrong keyword, and totally subpar image quality. that's why right now I'm selling just popular photos shot years ago despite my new files are much more stock oriented.

example: search for " smoothie bowl " the first 20 pages are all but smoothie bowl. mostly fruit and other stuff. do you think a buyer will bother searching through new files or just switch popular ? thats why most establishedd contributor still sells good, cause they have popular files. but for those wh try to diversify is practically impossible nowadays even with top notch image quality.

the fault is not new contributor as i said and want tell again. they want a free pizza , good for them. The problem are the agency. but as we say pulling the rope...the rope break at certain point.
