I don't seem to see any stock image specific licensing terms on your site, just a few general "product" terms.  Oddly, the include this: "You may ...use the Product in a work which you are creating for your own purposes or for a third party who has asked you to create it provided that the Product is not incorporated into a work which is created for the purposes of re-sale;" which seems to say a designer cannot license an image and incorporate it into a design they are selling to a customer.

Thanks for pointing this out, sjlocke. I've brought it to the attention of our Legal Eagles. If it's an oversight they'd better get on with correcting it. If it's a question of our legalese not being easy enough to find then we'll correct that too. Either way, thanks for having brought it to my attention x

I'm new here so let me introduce myself. I'm more serious in photography since end 2010 when I bought my first dslr a nikon d5000.  1year and half later I have more than 20000 clicks. I'm trying to get in on stockphotography. I submit to fotolia,dreamstime,canstockphoto,123rf and depositphoto but have only a very small portfolio yet. Hope to learn more and slowly build up my portfolio. This is a hobby for me   since I'm full employed in IT.

(I made this post also to the newbies only but then realized nobody would be able to see it)

Hi,

I'm new. I've been messing around with stock for a few years, now I'm starting a project to give microstock a disciplined go over a few years. I want to try and establish a modest income after a few years.

I started a blog a few days ago to keep a record of my progress and to get some advice. Really glad to find this site, can't wait to have a good look around here and learn what it takes.

http://swellphotographyuk.blogspot.com/

I wonder how many people here make a full-time income from microstock, and how long it took them to get there?

Peace out,

Terry

Welcome Konadan. I'm sure you could help. There are probably plenty of people here wondering how to get out of doing microstock and into sports, PR & news photography.  Grin

Have you figured out what you want to do, if anything, about selling stock via the micros? There are plenty of people here who can point you in the right direction if you need it (as long as it doesn't follow the line of one earlier new poster's thread which basically asked how they could dump a library of 30K slides on some agency without doing any work themselves!).
