Hello,

I am a new member, and I would like to introduce myself.

My name is George, and I  am currently based on Crete. I am Greek.

I started with microstock two years ago - Oct 2013. My portfolio is about 1000 images on Shutterstock, and about 1500 images on Fotolia, iSTOCK, Dreamstime, Depositphotos.

Retired from official job three years ago, upon completion of forty years of work as a photographer. Joined microstock challenge mostly for the fun of it. I enjoy making pictures, and I do not get carried away by any reviewer's-agency's rejections.

I am willing to share thoughts and ideas, and I hope I will learn more about photography and microstock from you all.

Welcome.

Are you planning to share links to your portfolio - if so, you can edit your profile to have those added automatically to your posts. As you've probably gathered, some people prefer to remain anonymous to avoid any repercussions from agencies who don't like what they post. But if you're not anonymous, it's nice to see portfolios to get an idea of the sort of things you do/like.

It's an interesting time in the microstock business :)

Welcome.
You seem to be well-suited to cope with the vagaries of a stocker's life.

Hello George,

Crete is a wonderfull place. I have been there once and I wished I could soon come back. The nature, the history and the culture.

And since you are there, and are an experienced photographer, you could make all those classic historical images, and tourist attraction images, just much better than the 7 week tourists do. Because you can choose the light.
And there really is a wealth of images to be taken on Crete.
The airports, the naval base, licenceplates of CD cars, its endless. Military things for editorial, flowers and stones for stock.
Not to mention oranges, rays and swordfish.

may we see your port?

Thank you all

I would not mind sharing the link to my portfolio and to my website at a later time. For the time being I would rather choose to remain anonymous.

Regarding my photographic interests, I like taking pictures of people, nature, and landscapes. Recently I started doing some table top still life. The last twenty some years of my business time I was doing - and still am doing - local and destination wedding photography.

I understand there are vagaries in a stockers life. It is a challenge. I am prepared to deal with them.

iGeorge
